Somehow I started thinking about duets. First one to come to mind is Up Where We Belong - Joe Cocker/Jennifer Warnes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CFYtpTot7hQ

But, I think Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey have it beat with Endless Love:

(Although, there's something annoying that I find about the way Mariah sings.)

Or maybe Kate Bush together with Peter Gabriel?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uJdlONFLqY

Honorable mention: Jennifer Warnes again, I Had the Time of My Life (with Bill Medley or whoever the guy was)

Does this count as a duet? It's one of my favorite songs (top 100)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geY0f6peEtc

One for Perknose, so he'll forgive me any of these others (particularly the last one, but there's something catchy about it; maybe it's the contrast or something):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSpsc67Zm-I
(Morrissey and Siouxsie)

Of course, this list would be incomplete without mentioning
Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Jordan
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-70qMhLfjLI

Or Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers; too hard to choose one though.

And, to bridge the entire span, how about some Method Man and Mary J Blige? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siXunj15hKc

edit: oops, almost spanned the whole spectrum. Pavaratti should fix that... and back to Joe Cocker where I began:

Seriously you don't need to spam every message with anime garbage.

Racist much?

Hatsune Miku is a vocal synthesizer, not "anime."

43 of my 152 Youtube favorites are Miku songs. Rather qualifies her as one of my favorite vocalists.
Let's blow through the ones that aren't in there twice for video/subs.

Good to see Richard Thompson, and of course, Tom Waits, being mentioned, but not many people know Greg Brown, and I LOVE him!

Like Waits and Thompson, he mostly writes his own songs.

Blue Car is a personal favorite, but Fishing With Bill may be the one I love the best.

I'm a fan of his buddy Bill Morrissey as well, and together have seen him or Brown play live at least ten times or more.

Given the rather pedestrian tastes of the OP, this thread is turning out OK.

I got to see him live a few months ago. Unbelievable show. You Drive Me Crazy and Rexroth's Daughter are my favorites. If you want to hear something really cool and different from him, look up Hadestown.
