You're not allowed to vote for Italian Job 2007 if you haven't seen the original.

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is my favorite movie on that list... But when I think "heist" movie, it begins and ends with Ocean's 11. Consequently, it got my vote.

Since it was so low on the list, I was afraid this might have been the case when the poll was first opened..

Now I see it only has 3 votes, including mine?! wtf.. This list is boo boo.

However, I want to respect ATOT's collective judgement and watch the film with the most votes that I haven't seen yet (who hasn't seen oceans 11?)

I'm off to secure a copy of The Sting..

Huh? That was one of the dumbest movies ever made.. Even Soderburg knew this - he often refers to the Oceans series as dumb fun

Am I too big a nerd for saying one of my favorites (though it wasn't a movie) was that episode of Deep Space Nine where they rob the holographic casino?

It's not really meant for the general audience, that's why you find it boring.

You made a poll about Heist movies and your original list didnt even include Heat or The Heist? But you included "All About the benjamins?" LOL

You fail OP. This thread fails.

3000 Miles to Graceland

First 20-minutes of the movie was pretty damn awesome then it turned into complete schlok.

Bad Santa - somewhat of a heist movie

I voted for Reservoir Dogs.

Looks from the comments that Heat should easily be the leader. Think you screwed up big time in your poll OP.

Are you implying that Oceans 12 is some intellectually minded, high art film? You're a fucking idiot...

I didn't find it boring, it's dumb fun..

I found it boring too, and enjoy "obscure" heist movies such as Rififi. I'm not sure what the audience for ocean's 12 was if not the general masses or people who like obscure foreign films.

A. Heat is bad

B. I have seen The Sting, and... no.

C. Which Ocean's 11?

D. Where the fuck is the option for Kelly's Heroes?

I don't understand why anyone likes it. Pacino, DeNiro, and Kilmer all pretty much "phone it in". It's an hour longer than it has to be. Michael Mann has no sense of art is his shot selection. The ending was beyond anti-climactic.

Kelly's Heroes is bad. Heat is good. Are you sure your neurons haven't been misfiring while reading this thread?

Newp, just have taste. Thanks for playing.

But since you seem to like it so much, please explain WHY?

Intelligent dialogue. Intelligent cops and "robbers" both of which get about equal screen time. Generally good acting. DeNiro was stellar. Great ambiance. Terrific gunfight scene.

Here's Roger Ebert's review.

Movies are like anything else just a difference of opinion. Many of the movies listed were good to great, just not my favorite. The Oceans series is simple for me 11 owned 12-13 were just ok, didn't suck to me but nothing to write home about, I also have all 3 movies and have watched them many times.
