I recently went from 460GTX to 460GTX SLI, also did CPU upgrade.

Previous games I was able to really enjoy more fully after being able to crank the details were Clive Barkers Undying, FEAR, HL2, Alice.

I'm thinking about giving Metro 2033 another go as one 460GTX forced me to lower details, but looking for other ideas of games where the graphics really shine at full detail. Maybe Crysis.

Metro 2033 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 were the first two games I wanted to play when I got my new 6950.

Crysis is a bit dated now, but on maximum details, it's definitely still a beautiful game and is worth checking out also.

I recommend checking out The Witcher 2. It's currently the most beautiful RPG available.

Crysis...modded. Still eye-popping.

I'd say revisiting Crysis (especially with mods) and Far Cry 2 (game-play is crap in FC2, but the graphics are great).

Modded Crysis still best looking game. Battlefield 3 is a must, especially the carrier level.

Got a sweet deal on a used 6970 to upgrade my aging 4850. Supposed to be delivered tomorrow, so I'll be cranking up the graphics on L.A. Noire, Shogun 2: Total War, and The Witcher 2 for starters. :)

I still have never played through Crysis and won't until I upgrade my mobo, proc, and memory.

Crysis and Half-Life 2.

HL2 is one of my favorite games ever, so I use new hardware as an excuse to play it again :p

unless you guys only upgrade once in 10 years, don't you run into diminishing returns? I can't imagine that HL2 looks that much better on a card from 2011 than one from 2008.

It doesn't, but my current PC was built in 2006 :p.

betrayal at krondor

good game, and i played this on my 486, but it seems pointless to play it again just because you got new hardware. a game that doesn't even require a 3d graphics card from 1993 isn't going to look any better on new hardware...

When i went from a 8800gts to a gtx280 then to a gtx295 the first title always was Crisis,then UT3.

Put the settings for Crysis to where i was sitting around 55fps average and be set:)

Well, with everything maxed out plus forced 8x SSAA it looks much better than running on 2008 hardware.

Yes, I definitely have a game like this, Stalker. Load one of those puppies up withe the "complete mod" and you won't believe the real time lighting and effects.

Flight Simulator X has always been my go to, to see if it actually will run smoothly this tie. Hint, it took a quad core, 8 gigs of RAM, and a 6850 to get it to reliably hit 60fps.
