@#$%. I couldn't possibly hate Dragonball-anything more than I already do.

Seriously, WTF is wrong with people that like that shit?

The original in Japanese is better.
NO.

Better what? Better flying? Better wincing / grimacing / epic constipation? Better exaggeration? It's pure garbage. I used to be a tool and liked that kind of stuff because "it's supposed to be cool, right?"

Maybe that's why I'm so repulsed by it now. I'm serious. Dragonball and Naruto offend me...deeply. That's also why the third Matrix movie pissed me off beyond belief.

Also these:
Equillibrium
Underworld
Wanted

Anime I actually like:
Katsuhiro Otomo - Memories (actually, the other two short stories were better than the one Otomo directed himself)
Cowboy Bebop

I've watched a couple Miyazaki films (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke) and found them to be WAY over-rated, but tolerable.

No way. That Chalaheadchala crap is boring. The intro is just so boring and nothing exciting happening.

Yet Another Worthless TridenT opinion.

Cha-La
We Gotta Power
Hell.. even Spirit vs. Spirit is awesome j-pop

Man, 80s cartoons were the best. Many cartoons shown on French TV in the 80s/90s were Franco-Japanese productions, animes with a western touch. I used to love them, but could never get into the modern animes which have become way too formulaic.

Mysterious Cities of Gold was one of those (mentioned earlier). There were some pretty weird translation issues as a result. For example, they keep steering these Spanish galleons with some kind of board attached to a rudder instead of a wheel but they keep telling eachother to "take the wheel." When they later find a golden ship built by "advanced" ancient Inca technology, they are AMAZED that it is steered by... "some kind of wheel."

The whole series is available in the US on Hulu.com. There are a few naughty words too and, yes, they were there when it played on Nickelodeon too.

I'm pretty sure that a Huck Finn and Jungle Book show shown here was also French/Japanese.
