well ,i havent built any systems for my family. but one of my good buddies built a sustem for his dads secretary.i told him straight from the front that he should install the os and all the major programs she wants (kind of a newbie) and tell her that everything is tested, works fine. if anything goes wrong, u can aoccasionally give me a call. but it wont be my fault. its either you, or teh hardware that, messed something up. ub of course he didnt. one day she called, and in a snarky voice hissed "quickbooks isnt working, i need to do my work".
my personal opinion would be not to build for anyone except good friends immidiate family.
P.S the fix for her problem was to restart. just some of teh stupid questions u will be asked
after we told her to rstart, we hung up. 5 mins later we get a call asking, "how do i restart? i only see shutdown"
sigh, just a taste of the little problems u will get.
