I'll take a cray computer, you know the 32-64 processors one running risc, 10-20 Gigs of RAM, a few dozen 15,000 RPM hard drives all running raid 0, and some 400GB tape drives for back-up, yes that sounds nice. Oh yeah how about a quad monitor display. We'd have RC5 cracked in no time with a handful of these bad boys!

My dream computer, I've got it right now, check my sig.

I've always dreamed of a computer that would load everything up really fast and would play games really fast, and well that's what I have.

A dual P3 is tempting...

But right now I think I'd still go for a single high speed TBird, most games and stuff are still faster on a single CPU.

So I guess
[*]TBird 1200@1300+ probably use an Alpha PEP66 with 26cfm YS Tech fan
[*]Asus A7M266
[*]512MB or 1GB or 2GB of PC2100 Crucial RAM (do they make 512MB or 1GB DIMMs yet?)

[*]GeForce2 Ultra with a Sony 21" high end (F500 I think is the model up from G500)
[*]Turtle Beach Santa Cruz with VideoLogic Sirocco Crossfires (not the DigiTheatre DTS because they don't have 4 channel input for games)
[*]My trusty Linksys LNE100TX NIC, or maybe an Intel Pro 10/100+
[*]A TV Tuner..probably a Pinnacle one..I have issues with my ATi and I don't like Haupagge...
[*]Adaptec SCSI card...not sure which one but an Ultra160 one with RAID 5

[*]Whats that IBM 15000rpm drive? Yeah well 5 of 'em in RAID5 :D 36gigers if they have 'em.
[*]Toshiba 1401 SCSI 12xDVD/40xCDROM
[*]Does Plextor make the 16x10 CDRW in SCSI? If not the Yamaha 16x10SCSI
[*]Plextor 40x CDROM if my CDRW is SCSI (for Plextor discdupe)
[*]Zip250 drive (I have a few uses for a zip drive)
[*]InWinQ500N with an Enermax Whisper 550Watt PSU

I'd use my trusty logitech cordless freedom pro keyboard with my logitech wheel mouse optical (don't like the mouse man shape).

I think that pretty much covers everything....

A dream computer? Well, it doesn't exist yet. For me, I'd take an inorganic ammonia fed (predominately nitrosomonas) microbial engine. Starting capacity of approximately 30 gigaflops when seeded correctly. After a month of Prime95, it would have grown to 200 Teraflops. As long as you feed it and give it work to do, it only gets more powerful. Just don't let it grow too big or you could be faced with many problems!

Cheers!

There is only 700MHz and 550MHz Xeon that has 2MB cache

The 1GHz Xeon only supports 2way SMP and only has 256KB

My Dream PC would have some type of mobo that would be able to accept all type processors, those that now exist and that will be released in the future. One that has a wide range of multpliers and FSB settings.

See Project Jukebox on my website or in system rigs. Everything exists (and I've started purchasing) except for the motherboard.

my dream computer is something akin to a laptop with a very long battery life, awesome 3d performance, a touch/tablet screen, low power consumption, Bluetooth functionality (so I could share my cable modem with it), and waterproof (so I could use it in the pool and hot tub)
