I usually wait for about 5 seconds. I dont want to deal with having two download dialogues up

If you click, then you have TWO popups to save the file and have to cancel the second one, which means ANOTHER click, so you are doing twice as much work.
Additionally, at least with Opera, the file starts downloading while it waits for you to cancel, so it is also slowing the transfer of the instance you want.
