So desktop shortcuts are a bit archaic in the *nix community but having conky smeared all over one side of your screen seems acceptable. Makes sense.

Nice wallpaper. It's very picturesque.

I don't know about anyone else, but I like a clean desk. The program shortcuts I frequently use are in my top panel, and conky gives me data I'm interested in at a glance. I use it as a sidebar, and stop my windows at the edge, so it's always visible, but still available for extra space if I want to overlap it.
