Hawaiian, Filipino, Haole (Caucasian) born and raised and still living in Hawai`i.

Whenever we have family dinner...there is always rice and for some reason kim chee, pretty much no matter what's for dinner...
 
We have a dish that no foreigner can pronounce since it has "soft" d's in it. "Rødgrød med fløde." Basically it's a red berry stew with cream.
 
koreans make seaweed soup for their birthdays. also, on new years, they eat
rice cake (pronounced dduk) soup
