I myself would make a 1-100 scale.

Things that get 1 point each:

Knowing the CD/DVD tray isn't a drink holder.

Knowing the mouse isn't a foot pedal.

Things that get 2 points:

Knowing how to turn it on.

Knowing how to turn on the monitor.

The thing I have difficuly with, in designating points.

For instance, how many points for knowing how to install a hard drive?

How many points for knowing how to create a webpage?

How many points for knowing how to create a small program?

How many points for the myriad of other tasks?

Remember 1-100 scale.

I know how to turn on the computer terminal

I know how to use the mouse

I know how to use the keyboard

I know that things I view come from a monitor

I know that dial-up accesses my internet service

I know that IE is my browser

And I know that forums.anandtech.com is where I go to make my skills 100/100
