Your computer chair, is it comfortable?

Yes indeed. Its time for a new chair.

I could post in Hot Deals in the I wanna thread for a hot deal, but first I would like your opinions. On the chairs you have now or would like to have.

Except that Aeron (spelling?) chair. Too damn expensive and all the dotcom auctions I have gone to either had them removed from the lists (private buyers) or some stoopid knucklehed starts the bidding at 500.

I had one once for a whole month. Then the company realized I was just a contractor...

I have a fabric-covered chair that I actually got from Best Buy on sale for $60 or so a while back. It's actually a quality chair.
The only problem is that the fabric is looking a lot worse as it wears. Other than that, it is comfortable... it has padded arms and reclines nicely.

I would check the sales flyers for Office Depot etc., you can find a decent chair that way. Or just scour Hot Deals, sometimes they have some really cheap chairs in there.

I picked up a leather chair at Office Depot dot com a few months back, and love it! Although it's sorta falling apart now, it's very comfy. :)

Get drunk one night, go on a rampage, and burn it. Then you have an excuse to get a new one.

slight problem though, the chair i have now is property of my school.... so if i burn it- then i have to pay the price for a new chair, and the replacement of the one i burned.

I think you just don't want to get rid of the old chair. You keep putting obstacles in the way of purchasing a new chair. It's like it's a long lost friend that you don't want to leave. I think you have seperation issues and need to see a professional. Once you have those issues resolved, then you will finally be able to buy a new chair.

Or just wait until you move out. <shrug>

I bought a black leather managers chair for $70 shipped from OfficeMax(.)com last year. It's a bargain for the money but I'd prefer a fabric chair. Unfortunately the "good" fabric chairs at CostCo B&M, OfficeDepot, Staples, etc. all cost around $199 and higher.

Like bigsmooth said, scan the Hot Deals forum for deals on chairs and you'll find a few.

if you don't want to buy a new chair, you could steal one from one of the dorms common rooms, that's what i did for a while.

My old chair (a pic of it as soon as I can get my camera to function again) is the old norweigen kneeling chair. It has no back to it. Its two seperate pieces of laminated wood that has a padded piece of particle board for your knees and another padded board for your butt. Its supposed to give you perfect posture. Yeah, but you can't have perfect posture when playing CS or RTCW. I busted the seat while using too much body english.

An imperfect representation of the chair.

After sitting in an Aeron for a while, I don't think it is that great. It offer good support, but thats about it. I have large, floppy, butt-cheeks that require a similar, softly padded surface.
