Your car and your cell phone

OK, for those that use cell phones, how do you use it?

i try not to use my phone while i'm driving.

I just hold the phone up to my head and talk

If it's night time or I really have to pay attention (driving somewhere I'm not familiar with the streets) then I won't answer the phone. I rarely make calls while driving and if I do talk and drive I keep the conversations very short under a minute. Of course it helps that I drive an automatic

I use mine all the time with a handsfree device. I am a professional driver and my mind does not stray from driving.

I believe that those that pull over to the shoulder to use a cellphone are many times more dangerous than those that do not.

The problem is the drivers that are in the fast lane and obviously can't drive in the first place and then try to talk on the pohone.

I had a handsfree earpiece with my old Nokia. It's now dead - the Nokia that is.

Now I use the speakerphone of my Sanyo... just hit a button and it's on speaker... just as good as an earpiece, but I have to scream a bit louder.

I keep calls short

i rarely make calls and if i dont know the roads i probably wont answer I can just call em back later since it will be stored on recent calls log anyway

Depends . . . if I'm on a freeway with light traffic . . . I pick up the phone; I don't change lanes while I am talking. If there's an emergency, I literally drop the phone to get both hands on the wheel.

I don't answer the phone on city streets unless I can safetly pull over . . . I have a manual tranny and it's pretty tough to signal, shift, steer, hold the phone, eat my lunch and read a map all at the same time. (Well, forget about the eating and reading too - j/k'ing)

I'll answer my phone if it rings, but I wont talk forever and I try to avoid making any calls (I have a fear of state patrol vehicles and it'd be just my luck if I got pulled over only because I was on my cell phone)

I can focus on driving while talking, just like if I glance to look at something on the side of the road, i can still keep in my lane without swerving all over hell...

so yeah...

Its sometimes on sometimes not but its not one just to chat on, i wish it was. It has very few minutes and my friends dont know its number, but if they do they dont call it. I rarely use it.

I don't like being distracted while I'm driving, so I turn off the phone.
