We just got fuct over because a Brazilian airliner is going out of business and our travel agency is trying to piece together a string of flights to get us there and back. 7 flights in 2 weeks between Brazil and Argentina is not our idea of a good vacation so we're giving them the finger.

We need a new place to go... what has been your best vacation ever ? We've done the cruise thing a few times and also Maui recently so those are out this time around.

I am going to have to say, The Battosai. But that was more of a ban than a vacation.

I LOVED Mexico. Playa del Carmen, the Mayan Ruins... a very exotic place. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Went to St. Thomas last year and stayed at the Ritz. Worth every dime, but not much food selection.

Also went to the Outer Banks last year (and I'm leaving for them again TOMORROW!!!). Also a lot of fun, but I prefer to get out of the country when possible.

Sannibel Island is gorgeous... went there about 10 years ago. Talk about a paradise on Earth...

Caymans are nice but a little overrated in my opinion.
 
I take it you got screwed by Varig closing up? That was a big suprise to people. All of a sudden they just cancelled all kinds of flights to the US

As for favorite vacation, Hawaii so far

We are planning on Fiji for the summer of 2007, though.

that's the one... I found on wiki (yes I posted in that colbert/wiki thread) on 7/28 (a few days ago) they laid off 60% of their workforce. Ouch. I wouldn't even feel safe flying with them after that. The suckiest thing is that we had to take a personal day to get a Brazilian Visa ($200 too)... and now we can't / won't go.

Been there twice, had a blast both times.
 
Aruba for my honeymoon was fantastic. Very relaxing...could do as much or as little as we wanted.

Disney is tied with that for different reasons. It was a big family thing and it was nice to spend some downtime with my parents, sister, bro-in-law, niece & nephew.
 
best vacation ever = Aruba.

I'm going to travel the world someday like puffff did. I'm still set on it.

So... THAT will be my best vacation ever.

I'd love to vacation down there. There's some very cheap, very nice hotels in Chile & Argentina...it's the flights that get you.

I'd also love to vacation in Cuba...once Fidel croaks and his brother can't hold the dictatorship together. Sit on the beach, drink a Hemingway mojito and just relax. 🙂
