Your best OC on stock voltage

Mrvile

Lifer
I'm at 2.4 right now on my 3500+ Winnie but I'm wondering if I can go a bit further on stock voltage. I was running stock clock at 1.2v originally but I felt some clog during boot so I'm gonna fck it and raise her back up there. Any comments?

Current clock:

300fsb x 8
3x HTT
1.4v @ 3.0 overvid
3-3-3-10 1T 166mhz ratio @ 2.85v

2.6 and that seems to be the limit with the el cheapo ram that i have at the moment (4 sticks of hyper x wasnt working to well)
3200+
4xhtt
1.4 vcore
260 fsb x10
3-3-3-8 1T 166mhz @ 2.6v (kingston value)

Winchester 3000+
CBBID 0451

So far my best clock speed at stock voltage has been stock speed!

#Stable CPU Clock Settings#
200*9=1800Mhz @ 1.400v with 5/3 divider (Memclock = 333Mhz, Load = 34C)
225*9=2025Mhz @ 1.450v with 3/2 divider (Memclock = 337Mhz, Load = 40C)
235*9=2115Mhz @ 1.550v with 4/3 divider (Memclock = 313Mhz, Load = 41C)

The memory used is Kingston Value RAM @ 2.5-3-3-10 1T with an Asus A8V-Deluxe.

3200+ 0450TPGW

Needed a bump up to 1.425v to stabilize at 2500, so probably 2450 for a max stock vcore oc on this chip.

yeah i got my kingston at 1T (dont no how) and thats probably why i cant go any higher with my clocks even if i change volts. Maybe if i lower 2T, but would it be worth it?

LOL. My 3500+ is not stable at ANY overclock without an increase in voltage. Currently at 2400MHz and CPU voltage is 1.46V

At the moment got my 3000+ Winnie on 2205 (9xHTT, 4xHT, 245x9) and cruicial ballistix pc4000 at 245Mhz Cas 3 4.4.8

i read that i could probably bump her to 2400 mark with no problems as long as memory plays along - and thats not touching volts 🙂

Hey icepik sorry about that crap CPU you got there! Is it a Winnie or Newcastle?

Anyway I can do 2.4ghz fine, the voltage is at about 1.42 right now (1.4 @ 3.3% because I hate when things are set to "auto") so I can probably hit 2.5. I'll try it tonight, thanks for all the replies!

Havnt tried much at stock voltage's but my 0451 is at stock vcore(cpu-z says 1.339v) running at 2309.5mhz. Seems like a very low stock voltage......

Wow, i havent had to touch volts at all. Is it because u guys are going for such big FSB's. I'm running stock volts/HSF, 4xHT value RAM with 225FSB stable. Newcastle core

It's all YMMV dude. Seems like most of the Winchesters overclock moderately well with little or no extra voltage applied. I happened to get the one off the line that doesn't overclock well.

Week 37 3200+

2.4Ghz @ 1.4v|LDT=4x|HTT=240|mem=240 (2.5-3-3-10 1T)
2.6Ghz @ 1.5v|LDT=3x|HTT=260|mem=260 (2.5-3-3-10 1T)
2.7Ghz @ 1.5v|LDT=3x|HTT=270|mem=270 (2.5-4-4-10 1T)

You gotta love Corsair 3200XL!! 😀

My Week 41 (?-not peeling the HSF, but that's what I think it was) does 2.7 @ stock voltage and the mobo won't go any higher than 300 HTT before it craps out so the CPU may have more.

Before you call me a liar, check here:.

I have two 3200+ 939 winchester CPU's here. I have only done quick tests so far. Both are week 47 (0447RPMW). So far I have only tried to boot windows, and run one loop of 3DMark. A cheapo 400w PSU was used. Both CPU's used stock cooler and default voltage. They were quite different:

CPU#1 2.45GHz
CPU#2 2.57GHz

I will put the better one in my own system, slap on a XP120 heatsink and use a Seasonic Tornado 400w PSU, up the voltage and see what it can do. Hopefully I get it stable at 2.6GHz.

Superkdogg what memory are you running and what settings? that is amazing oc - i gather that you lowered HT to x3 (900) and its a 300x 9 jobbie..nice

You're right on the 300x9. I am running Corsair VS PC3200 @ 2-3-2-10 & 1T (2.8 vdimm)with a 4:6 ratio. The ram is at stock speeds with the timings tightened up. No matter what I do, I can't get the ram to run with the 5:6 divider @ 300. That would put the RAM @ 250, which is just too much for it. I actually have HT @ 2x because I read some benchmarks (xtremesystems forum ?) where they showed that 2x didn't hurt the performance at all and sometimes helped.

The one hangup with my OC is the AGP lock is flaky on my AV8 and I have to run the 8:2:1 ratio and drop HTT to 285-290 to play any games. In non-graphics intensive situations like SETI, prime, and Super Pi, it runs stable as can be @ 300.

Current rigs...

MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum 3500+ 939 Winchester @ 2500MHz stock Vcore. This Winchester sucks.

ASUS K8N-E Deluxe 3400+ 754 Newcastle @ 2600MHz stock Vcore. I Haven't found max CPU clock yet. Every time I raise the MHz, it just keeps going. 🙂
