Ideology IRL (in real life) vs. on AT (this forum)

  • Right IRL; Left on AT

I'm pretty much the same in both settings. I think of many more comments than I share, and I don't tolerate idiots or zealots well. I lean left, definitely, but I have no use for people that are big on promise and small on delivery, which is to say practically every single elected official. When considering who to vote for, I usually end up voting against some crazy mfer rather than voting for someone I actually want, which of course means that voting is depressing enough that I don't do it much. I keep informed of current events, but I try not to invest myself in them since I can't really affect them and often the only winning move is not to play.

You're kidding, right? Well, I guess liberals are kinda "mind your own business" except when it comes to fiscal matters or guns.

Everyone is "mind your own damn business" when it comes to whatever it is that they personally want to do. Everything outside of that is fair game though. It's easy to say things like "mountain climbing is dangerous and everyone would be better off if it were outlawed" when you have no personal interest in mountain climbing. Extrapolate that to essentially everything anyone could possibly like or dislike and take away the idea that something needs to be more than just a minor annoyance for someone to to launch a serious campaign against it's legality and you've pretty much got it.

i'm not really a Forum Director or an Ominipotent anything.

IRL, I'm just a strong, proud black woman

I refuse to be labeled. :colbert:

I also like smart compromise solutions that nobody seems to discuss.

Clearly I'm in the wrong thread. 😛

Depends on how you define "real life". I'm apolitical around most in real life and can easily pretend to be a librul if pressured, but I hold the same right-wing extremist views that I post on internet forums.

Sometimes you might want to be left, sometimes right, doesn't matter than much as long as you are well armed with plenty of ammo.
