i'm feeling the older i get, the more i dislike my parents. was/is this true for others? i'm not exactly whining or being a little bitch, but i think our relationship has been further apart. i guess that's the process of growing up. 🙂

EighTEEN is still a teen sporto, and explains the issue with your parents. In a few years you will start actually appreciating them for the first time in your life.
 
I loved them until I was ~8
Hated them from ~8-15
Since then I love them even more, but don't understand the stupid decisions they make

I find that to be true as well. At least with my parents, I'm seeing now that they really were right all along...oh well, you live and learn I guess.

im 22 and it hasnt stopped yet.

i found i disliked them even more when my father told me a couple of months ago:

"me and your mother would have left each other long ago if it werent for us believing god wants us together, i have to choose every day to love your mother and she chooses to love me"

i thought it rather fvcked up, to be honest, and figured that explained a good number of things that i had always disliked about my family in general.
 
as a teenager its typical to "hate" your parents, and think you know much more then them... but as you get order you realize that they are indeed smart (in the sense of having experience and what not)...

lol....guess you didn't understand what a teenager is.

I finally "got it" around 24. That big bright light that goes off where you truly understand how much your folks love you and realize everything they did for you.

Love them back. They won't be around forever.

-edit- still the proudest day in my life was when I was able to take my parents out to a nice dinner and take care of them for once instead of the other way around.

I've loved mine since I can remember and I'm 18.

I never got people who hate their parents. Sometimes they'd piss me off or something and I might dislike them for an hour or day, but never an extended amount of time.

i'm 24... i love my parents... they have done so much for me. i have nothing but the upmost respect and love for them.
