3. Memento
4. Schindler's List
5. American History X
6. Godfather I

8. Training Day
9. Old School

-Lord of the Rings, all three movies

-Matrix: the first movie

-Star Wars, all six episodes. I have to watch Movies 2 and 3 with the sound down because of Mr Hayden's voice.

-2001 A Space Odyssey, on a large screen. This movie does not translate well to a TV or multiplex.

-Kind Hearts and Coronets

-Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy: this is a very watchable mini-series based on the book.

-Satyricon

-8 1/2

-La Dolce Vita

-Help! and A Hard Day's Night: Because they are fun

-Cousin, Cousine

-Small Change

It didn't work for me the one time I watched it, maybe 2 years ago. I'll try it again one day, it's sitting on my shelf.

Oh come on! It's really impossible to condensate 100 years fo Cinema history in just 10 entries. Most people who did it here are American teenagers who only included American movies from the last 10 years.

I might be able to make a list of 10 directors, and even so it would not be really exhaustive... let's see: a movie for each one:

Fellini: 8 1/2
Wenders: The sky above Berlin
Kubrick: Barry Lindon tie with Eyes wide shut
Scorsese: Taxi driver tie with Raging bull
Hitchcock: Vertigo
Kurosawa: Shichinin no samurai
Herzog: Fitzcarraldo
Truffaut: Jules et Jim
Tarantino: Pulp Fiction
Bergman: Fanny och Alexander

Wild card #1: Bertolucci: Last tango in Paris
Wild card #2: Woody Allen: Manhattan
Wild card #3: Almodovar: Hable con Ella

This is really the best I can do to condensate it... but so many masterpieces remain out...
