What moves to capture the young vote are you speaking of? I haven't really noticed anything.

You didn't read the article did you.

There have been atleast some token pandering going on, but I don't think it's going to sit well with younger voters as it smells of pandering - the exact thing that has turned them off to politics.

Dean has done the best job mobilizing voters, but the Republicans get pretty high marks for getting their younger supporters out to the polls. I would not be surprised if, among actual voters under age 24, that the number of Republicans significantly outnumbers the Democrats. Again, voting is an "old" thing to do. It doesn't have the immediacy of the internet. If we had more online voting I think we'd get more kids interested in the process.

But, if the younger generations stop voting democracy will die and we will keep getting truly crummy leaders.

I believe there was a poll recently about Bush having quite good numbers among college aged people.

There is a growing trend among the youth to join the Apathy Party
and express their willingness to participate by not going to the Polls.

With their vote used wisely, they deserve that which they get.

Unless you live in a battleground state, giving money is more important than voting. That money can be used in battleground states to make a difference, but your vote most likely won't matter anyways.

Yeah, kinda like my worthless vote here in Iowa.;) Take DesMoines out of Iowa and it'd be quite a Conservative state;) Hehe - this state is going to vote for Gephardt ...again:p Some people just don't learn I guess though.

Just look who we all have to vote for this next election, a whole pack of morons that couldn't tell thier sphinctor from a hole in the ground. Besides voters don't decide anyway, your vote is useless since that vote can be cast aside as the electorial college votes the way they want to. The 2k election should be a blatent example of this.
