My ex, while we were still dating.

"I wish I had met you when I was older." I took it as I'm boring but trustworthy and stable. That rocked my world. At my age, it's an insult.

QTF

Usage of the word "would" is bad too.

In other words, you're not exciting enough for her to want to bang you, but you stable and supplicating enough to make a good obedient husband.

See, now, YOU would make a crappy husband.

A good husband keeps life exciting and new. I think its a compliment. Ppl who think it is not meant as a complement have self esteem problems.

It means "I can do better, for now. I'll give you a random call 8 years from now when my looks have faded and I'm afraid of dying alone."

those are some of the people that become daters well into the 30's, meeting people very week... meeting other people that are also 30's who have been on hundreds of thousands of dates... all the conversations become jaded and very mechanical... it's sad... searching for that something when it's you that's set some funky expectation.

because it's just like the movies, no real world detectives goes on some wild car chase smashing up fancy cars, or storms into some dark warehouse chasing some perp w/o first making sure you got backup...

but if a movie was like real life, it'd be boring to watch...

sorry but life has got a lot of repetitive days, gotta work to pay those bills and pay for those fancy items, pay for those 'exciting' moments you need to have given to you while you sit back and enjoy them...

make no mistake, if you don't have a wit or sarcasm or humor.... yep that is boring.

I'd say take it as a immaturity, ultimately you're what she would want in the future, but right now she's too retarded to understand what she wants so she's gonna play around with as many guys as she can.

yeah this is a lot like that other questionable phrase...

"If you were a fart you would really smell"
compliment or insult?

It is a compliment, but sometimes it means that you are really stable and dependable, but dull.

I have been told this by my girl friends. It is a compliment, but it has a hint of "you need to change" in it. Not a big deal. Some people like my quirky humor.

I'm busy fvcking jobless alcoholics right now, but when I start to get fat and old, and need some one to change diapers and pay alimony, I'll give you a call.

Thats how I'd take it, assuming I was single and the girl was my age. If I was so damn great, she wouldn't be telling me that, she'd be trying to date me. Only action counts, the rest is just bullsh|t usually.

QFT. Never thought I'd be so bitter at 22, but, hey, here I am.

Nobody is exciting or interesting, those who believe they are are the ones that are furthest from the truth.
