And for all the believers here, God bless you!

No there doesn't have to be a reason for the creatue of living things. Life is just doing sh1t untill you die.

Lol, good laughs. So whats the reason you chose to "protect" us people from bad guys? It has no true meaning to you? Your just doing sh*t until you die to keep other people from dying?

Well I'm a believer but I wouldn't go so far as to say if there were no God life wouldn't be worth living. I mean there is plenty to live for besides God. Heck I'm not even sure there is one. I believe there just might be, but I'm agnostic because I haven't seen any overt evidence that would make me sure.

As far as i'm concerned the human race is here to further our own knowledge of everything around us. That can only be accomplished through working together so I think getting along with each other will be a prerequisite. Too bad most human's are too damn crazy to do that because I believe it would improve all of our lives if we could learn all we can about where we came from and what we're doin here.

I just don't think you need a God for that. And even if you did, you don't need to worry about if there is one or not, just let him do his thing and you just do your best.

Bottom line, and I have to bold this cause no one will read my whole post thanks to all the ADD laden peeps on board: Do you really think if there was a God he would require you to bow down before him? What an entirely silly human concept that is!

I have many thoughts like yours in my mind but ever time I try to put it in words I often forget sh*t or just cant explain it so I will no longer even try. But that bold part is sooo true! I dont go to church and dont really plan to but that doesnt mean I do not love God. I pray every night and ask for forgiveness even for the smallest of sins and I actually belive that I can talk to God and in my own way and I believe he respects my thoughts and opinions of life and what it could be. Im just saying that for me if there wasnt a God I would be scared to live because of the fear of dying and be gone forever. How could you imagine not existing anymore? Its so depressing, I mean your not just sitting there in pitch black thinking, your completely gone as in no thoughts, no vision, nothing! Its impossible to imagine so there has to be something more after death even if it isnt what we belive.

First of all don't give up trying to communicate just cause it's hard for you, you'll get better if you keep trying. Second, I understand your fear of death, it's only natural for everyone to fear death. its part of fear of the unknown. It's probalby not going to be as bad as you think depending on how it happens.

But the thing is, you really ought to make the most of life and stop worrying about death. Worrying about it isn't going to help. why is it so scary just to cease exisiting? It is quite possible that that is exactly what happens.

This reminds me of a Cocteau Twins song Essence in which part of the lyrics say: "Where do baby leaves go when they die?" The point this brings up of course is, of all the living things, which one's have a soul and go on to an afterlife? Only humans? All living things? You have to draw a line somewhere right? So do leaves, which were once alive, die and go to heaven? I mean the things aren't even sentient! So that doesn't make sense does it? The rest of the lyrics go on to say "God is a feeling of loving yourself".

Bottom line is instead of worrying about what happens after you die, just do the best while you're still alive.

I do not fear of death and really cant wait to see the Heaven in which I believe in. I was saying that if I didnt believe in God and knew for a fact that he didnt exist then I would be scared to die. As for what has a soul and what doesnt. I believe all things have somewhat of a soul based on their intelligence and structure. I think its God's choice as to what has a sould and what doesnt. God made the trees so that we may eat the fruit from them not so we could be friends with them. And also according the the Bible it is stated that the animals are for our consumption, lol but are we supposed to eat cats? I guess maybe we could but our world has changed and I believe God understands the change even if this wasnt his intention of life. He has made us with the ability to creat things and ideas of our own and I think he is proud of his creations.

I aint protecting anyone. I love America. To me theres no better job then serving the country thats been so good to me and my family. Someones gotta do it, why not me. Besides, if I die, my mom gets a quarter million.

oh, and to me theres no courage, bravery or anything like that involved in why i personally joined. Its like sonambulo said, its just a job. Sure I'm proud of it, but its really not that big of a deal.

I don't necessarily believe in a god, but I don't fear death either.

When it happens, I won't be around to know it happened.

Well I dont know exactly how God chooses his people but if it so happens that there is a God maybe he'll also choose the people who live life as it is believing in just life itself and not judging one another for believing or not believing in him.

maybe not for you, but i take pleasure in life itself, i don't need a god to give me a reason to live. my family, friends, and my life itself are reason enough.

huh? even if we *were* adapting to that, it's not like you would be able to tell... in what, the few hundred years we've been polluting like crazy?

f*cked up reasons, like... i've just not seen anything to lead me to believe in one? oh man, that's so f*cked up, they need to lock me up, i'm like a f*cking maniac! i'm out of CONTROL, man.

Haha, how do you what happens after death? Death for all we know could be the middle-man much like how that CrapUSA salesman is for CompUSA. I say we should just deal directly with the manufacturers if you catch my drift. :D

I have some pretty weird thoughts. What if the big bang is for real created by some master creator type thing and sent out many God-like creations to expand the universe? That is some trippy sh*t to think about once you get all into it. And if thats so what if we were born of one of those other creators and were like aliens or something? I believe aliens are for real and whether they be creations of God or creations of other great beings it just startles me to think of such a life.
