You could also just let us fight in the mountainous regions if your country doesn't want to foot the bill for hunting down Al-Qaeda at the Taliban that are hiding there.

We don't trust you enough for letting you do that. In fact the average Pakistan hates America with all his heart. And all that because of Bush's stupidity.

It's not like Pakistan is the model country for government trust, efficiency, and wise decisions.

The US military doesn't want the region to turn into another Vietnam situation, where guerrilla fighters hide across the border, where the US doesn't have legitimacy in going after them in those regions, and I don't blame them. Al-Qaeda and Taliban forces hiding behind the invisible border within the uncontrolled mountains.

I see the issue with violating Pakistani sovereignty in the region by attacking targets in those areas, but realistically speaking, Pakistan isn't exactly exerting its authority in those regions, which are by and large, autonomous.

To be spending 1/60th of the economy per year on someone else's war is ridiculous. Damn the politicians who for filling their pockets are robbing the country of peace, security, honor and money. About time we tell the Americans: Pay fully for our war or we are out!

If your post is to be believed, you have your answer.

Your politicians are NOT fighting the WoT, they are lining their pockets. Why should somebody else contribute to that?

Anyway, we already give Pakistan millions of $'s (based on your post I feel like writing my Congressing persoan and asking them to stop)

According to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Overseas Loans and Grants the United States funneled $643 million in economic assistance to Islamabad in 2007 alone, and $299 million in military assistance the previous year.

That's a good point. Let's all write to our Congressmen and ask that all aide for Pakistan be cut off since they don't want to have anything to do with the US.

War is the very last resource a nation would want to get into. However, Bush is hell bent on bankrupt the US and the nations that are involving in the current ME war.

If the war profiteers are anything like they were in the Vietnam war, they would over charge the US government, Iraq gov, and Afghanistan gov on arms shipment as they have in the past.

My dad (writer) worked for the South Vietnamese newspaper during the Vietnam war, and he use to complaints about how corrupted the Vietnamese & American governments on arms shipments. He would tell stories to anyone who would listens.

Such as, the US claims that they give aid to S-Vietnam and the ?aid? turn out to be made in USA guns that they force down the Vietnamese throat. Then they charge the Vietnamese 3X-6X more than the standard international price for NATO 7.62mm bullets. And, they black mail the corrupted S-Viet gov into purchase only US made weapons.

LOL @ OP.

How much in aid have we given your country?

You are just mad that no matter how much you protest, we are averaging at least 1 strike per week into Pakistani territory. And I would bet that MOST, if not all of the intelligence we get to strike is from your intelligence services. No one in the international community cares, because they know we are doing the right thing.

Look at the major powers in the world: US, China, Russia.

US - Obvious fundamental Islam problems

Russia - Chechnya - need I say more?

China - Has radical Jihadis set off a bomb a week before the olympics

Get over it. Either you fight off the extremists in your country, or we do.

This isnt Iraq. The world is behind us on Afghanistan. Our new President is behind Afghanistan/Pakistan. Good luck.

He really does? Sounds like your government/culture has done a fantastic job of distracting the average Pakistani away from the most important issues, but then again, the average American seems to think a terrorist is hiding under his bed at night, so both countries have their boogeymans, don't they? This is what weakened/hated governments do, they try and distract the people away from their shortcomings and focus on an enemy together so that they'll get a free pass.

Someone else's war? There is a large region of the country that the central government has no control over, a region which send militants to the larger cities to kill civilians. It is Pakistan's war. They're lucky we care about it and are getting military aid to help fight it.

So for a recap you're saying 1.) you hate the US, 2.) you don't trust the US, and 3.) send more money for our corrupt politicians or else??

Bahahahaha!!

TGB's posts are getting tiresome.

I'm tired of being diplomatic. I vote for leveling the country and burying our nuclear waste there.

I think we need more Pakastani posters.
That said I wonder if TGB actually is in Pakistan or just a Pakistani resettled elsewhere?

What do you mean someone else's war when it is your own poverty and religious nuts in your own country that created the extremist/terrorists, who blow up hotels in your own country and assassinate leaders of your own country?

Why should the Americans pay for your own mess? Americans is already kind enough to not go into your country and do jobs that you cannot perform with you cannot even enforce your own laws and your people assisting some of the most wanted terrorists in the world.

I'm sure Bush didn't help, he seems to have that effect on most people outside the United States...but if you're right, the average Pakistani is pretty stupid as well for not realizing that this isn't just an American war that you're fighting by proxy. You really think a bunch of violent extremists controlling a huge portion of your country and trying to take control of the rest of it isn't a problem for Pakistanis even more than it's a problem for Americans? While we might not be your cup of tea, but that doesn't mean our enemies are your friends...they're your enemies too, maybe even more so than they are our enemies. Our country is thousands of miles from them, and they have limited ability to influence our internal politics. On the other hand, they're right in your back yard and they have shown that they are interested in and capable of messing with your country. Pretending they aren't a problem because you're feeling pissed off at us would seem to be a pretty dumb decision.

Besides, we already send Pakistan billions of dollars in military aid...we ARE paying for your war. Only we're really paying for totally sub-par assistance while you spend our money building up your military for fighting India. You should be pissed at us? How about the other way around? And the dumbest part of this whole thing is that there is no REASON we shouldn't be strong allies...it's just diplomatic bungling on our part and a head in the sand mentality on your part that's preventing us from being decent allies.

All we get is a few million dollars in F16 upgrades that we don't really need. What we need is for the money to come into the market. Not in some fast-depreciating F16s that we don't even need! We really don't need F16s against India when we have nukes. What we need is new trade routes. What we need is to get rid of guns. What we need is to stop treating this like a war and rather as a civil law and order situation. Lets start by by paying $10,000 to anyone who gives up his guns. It'll be cheaper and more efficient.

I'm not sure that's the best approach, but I do agree that treating it like an actual war has problems...especially insider your own country.

As usual, blame all of Pakistan's problems on outsiders while simultaneously turning to them with cup in hand. It must take an incredible amount of self-delusion for you to maintain any respect for yourself.

Here, pick an option that'll let you preserve some dignity:

A) Tell America and all the rest to get lost and police your corner of the world entirely on your own
B) Accept outside help and show some gratitude for the charity you're receiving

Being the sad little global welfare recipient you are, no doubt you'll continue to try to do both.

What would be the basis for your economy if there were no external political and religious forces pushing and pulling at Pakistan? Glass manufacturing?

How many Americans hate muslims based on what they've seen themselves rather than what they see on TV? I think the terms used by your politicians and accepted by ours like "extremism" and "fundamentalism" are causing the majority of us to think you hate muslims. The problem is there are two many bigots on both sides that won't accept that there is a problem with them.
