Bullshit. Your sister would have got maybe $300 for the books. 2009 edition textbooks used at community college aren't worth much. And quit being a pussy and blaming your family for you being a dumbass.

He doesn't understand the concept of depreciation. He probably has incredibly poor control over his wallet (full of government money).

I'm well aware.

Anyways, leaving the trolls aside.

My sister comes home today, and says shes going to call the cops on me, and says that shes going to tell them that I said I hit her. LOL this is unbelievable, and guess what. My moms says that if I call the cops on her, because she threatened to stab me with a knife, she said that she will tell the cops that i said it. Wow...unfucking believable. These people.

GTFO of there... after your school is done.

I know of someone, early 30s, still lives at home, uses mommy's car (only one who does in the house, she keeps saying it's a sunk cost, but BS, you can still sell it), mommy pays for insurance, mommy pays for his girlfriend's food often. Definitely not alone...

Move out. Go get a job on Monday. Take that proof of employment, find a roommate or two, and get an apartment by next Monday.

Seriously.

What's unfucking believable is that someone who is smart enough to stay in school is dumb enough to stay in a house where people are threatening to destroy his life by calling the cops.

Oh hey finally decided to post on this account?

Yeh.

Anyways, for the poster who said I was talking crap about my sisters boyfriend for living at home, when i live at home as well. Well first and foremost....hes 31, no education, no plans of an education, he works with his family now, because he use to have a new factory job every month. He does not save his money because my sister milks him dry, so realistically hes waiting on my sister to have her career so that he can leach off her. He use to drink every single day, now not so much as I kinda pushed him on a no drinking route. Dont get me wrong hes a good person, hes just not the kind of guy you would want your daughter dating.

And im still laughing at these people who keep telling me I am a moron for living at home, I'm guessing they expect me to sit outside in -40 weather with a cup begging for change. You guys have to be delusional, that's the only thing i could think of.

Dude stop posting your problems here if you aren't going to fix them. You need to move out, your family is unsalvageable. Didn't you make this same post in relationships and get it locked?

I'm expecting more of these threads in the future the way things are going. Many people in similar situations as the OP.

just because you've aged past your teenage years does not mean what you describe is not teenage drama.

Yea his whole family needs to grow up. At least OP is trying to get a good life.

Seriously OP needs to get out ASAP. Chances are high that the sis will call the cops one day and screw him over with a criminal record.

You're not a moron for living at home. You're a moron for living with people who are threatening to accuse you of criminal behavior. A house with those people is not a "home".

This may come as a shock to you, but you're not the first person on the planet to face a choice between staying in school and losing your home. Talk to a counselor at school, and find out what kind of help is available to keep you in school and pay your living expenses.

Don't sit around waiting for other people to change - you'll be old and gray before they do. Work on yourself, first.

I feel like you've finally managed to say something that is actually valuable and kind of nice lol, which is a change from your previous responses.

Thank you.

That sounds like a really bad situation. I understand that it isn't easy to move out when you are trying to go to school full time and you now got this crap at home.

If you must stay in the situation. I would recommend you minimize interaction with the other people in the house if possible. I would also recommend that you look at someway to secure your door ie lock something against somebody coming in while you are out. That way you don't come home to discover things are missing. I would also recommend that you evaluate as much as possible the soonest you can move out. Might not be possible but look into it.

Mostly this. The law in this country is really screwed up when it comes to domestic violence. All his sister has to do is call the police and they will come out and arrest him ... and away he goes to jail.

This^^.

Where or how do people think that someone who goes to school full time is able to pay for school, food, clothes, personal supplies, bus fare, and rent at the same time? I really want to see how please. This isn't the 1980s, it cost a lot of money to live on your own and go to school.

I pay $150 a month on the bus, I pay $150 a month on food, I pay $30 on personal supplies (anti-perspirant or toothpaste etc...) I pay for a cell phone, I pay for books, for tutition, and on top of that you expect me to find the money to throw down minimum $400 for a room in a house with 6 other students.

One of you guys who keep saying its so doable to move out and do all of this please chime in, and give me some sort of spreadsheet that shows me how doable this is.

Really? You think everyone at your school is living with their parents? I went to college out of state and made it work- I worked 7 days a week, 2 different jobs for quiet a while but I made it work and had extra $$ actually. Yeah it's not easy, but you can find jobs for after your classes, you can work on the weekends - it's not going to be as comfortable as how you're living now but you can get away from all the craziness at least.

My son moved out during his second year of university, because he wanted to try life on his own. He reduced his school workload by one class, and worked 35 - 40 hours per week. He is doing very well and truly enjoys his freedom. It is not easy, but it can be done.

sounds like you were drunk, but had a right to be pissed.

also, you need to live in your own home if you want to control your environment.

if you've never had the cops called on you before for a domestic related issue, just understand that sometimes they have to make a mandatory arrest....even if it's on shaky evidence. All they need is probable cause, which could be a victim's testimony, witness, etc.

if both of you are saying you are victims and both want to prosecute, both of you may go to jail.

In the end, nothing really happens because the police are just used as a mediator or bargaining chip....so when it's time to ball up in court, both of you will waffle.
