Try 1.4 Euro per liter. That's what it is here in Portugal. It was 1.3 Euros per liter in Spain.
Someone do the math. I don't have a calculator. I believe it is 3.85 liters per gallon and the exchange rate is roughly 1.6 dollars per 1 Euro.

The need is so dire that a congressionally created commission recently estimated that even modest improvements would require government investments of between $130 billion and $240 billion a year in highways through 2020, far greater than the current $68 billion.
Internet traffic has skyrocketed since the major telecom investments of the late 1990s. YouTube alone now consumes more bandwidth than the entire Internet did in 2000, said Scott Cleland, president of the Precursor Group, a technology research firm.
The water pipes running underground are decades old. Some date to the 19th century. Some are wooden. The aging water system has led to increasing reports of burst pipes and contamination. Earlier this year, the Environmental Protection Agency estimated that the nation must invest $202.5 billion in the next 20 years to upgrade wastewater treatment and collection, sewage and storm water management systems. That's on top of $276.8 billion that the EPA estimates is needed to upgrade drinking water systems.

What about the countries that are paying $1 or less?
It does indeed work both ways. Venenzuela is paying $0.12 per gallon.
Speaking of subsudies, the governor of Alaska wants to give a rebate of $1,200 for every man, woman and child in Alaska because their tax and sales revenues are overflowing because of oil. Who owns the oil: Alaska or the US?
I want my share too! 😛

I ride my bike. But the cost of food in NY is way up. Petrolium is affecting everything. Even electronics. China is raising cost on its electronics exports. Everyone is affected, not just drivers. I remember the gas crunch in the 70s, there wasnt even gas to be had. Now we are paying through the nose and there is plenty of gas. It just makes no sense.
