He's lucky he didn't blow the welds on his intake manifold.

BWUHAHAHAHAHAHA

That movie was sooooo damn stupid :)

Oh no, I blew out the floorboards of my ricer because I hit the NO too soon.................................

NOS expands, and cools down - that's how it works, it allows you to get more air into your cylinders. He hit his leg with the exhaust, and his leg got supa-freezed!

Incorrect, NO (Nitrous Oxide) is injected into the intake along with extra fuel, upon combustion the NO breaks down into Nitrogen and Oxygen, the Nitrogen acts as a buffer against detonation.
The now released Oxygen is now used to burn the extra fuel injected thus producing more power.

He frost bit his leg because when NO is released from the bottle, it turns from a liquid to a gas, this process absorbs large amounts of heat, thus freezing his leg.
It's actually N2O. :) Also, the phase change from liquid to gas absorbs a lot of energy, but the majority of the temperature drop is the severe drop in pressure.

The N20 you got me on, but my statement is just a simplified version of yours ;)

(Remember that the simple minded are reading this)

Bah! You beat me to the N2O correction! :p

Man, that lymph fluid... looks like urine. :p Have you ever noticed that a lot of body fluids look alike?

I'm surprised that it didn't become more than just a blister of death. Or is that what happens with second degree burns? Come to think of it, my hand looked a bit like that after I picked up that soldering iron by the wrong end. :p

:)

Are you saying that it works by cooling air? It's not for getting more air into the cylinders. It's for getting more oxygen in.

I wish I had some aerogel...that stuff is the best insulator i've ever seen, and it's very light weight. I wanna impress my friends with the chocolate piece on aerogel over an open flame demo.
