Well all I know is I am always nice to new people, unless there is a reason not to be. Grimjack comes to mind, but I really enjoyed him anyway, he was funny. But I go out of my way to make new people feel welcome here all the time, and that has nothing to do with being elite. I have done it from almost the beginning of my time here, and I will continue to do it.

Exactly, what party.
The atmosphere here isn't one of fun or excitement, I often wonder why some people keep coming back and posting like they do. This forum has avery small group of people that keep it interesting while the majority is come and go.
If there were a little more understanding, maybe that base group would grow, and post matter would become better in the long run. I know a lot of you really don't care, or want to see anything better, but i like a good read, i like a good laugh, and the enviroment here does not foster growth or development. You either are accepted from the start, or left out in the cold, because you either said something someone self important did not like, or is tired of hearing.
So when you ask what party, don't ask me. Look around the board and you tell me what party? Sometimes I think it is more addicting than it is fun, and don't mind being away from it.
Other boards make you feel welcome, want you to be a part, and treat you with that respect. Here, you get hung out to dry.

No. Never did I lay blame. The attitude and the environment have fostered this general feeling. But, sometimes, your actions and the actions of others lend into the equation.
It's like walking near a river on a slippery walk. You might slip once in a while, but as long as you keep your balance you won't fall in.
It's just if you insult those that don't know, they won't learn.
I'm not naming names, please understand. I just see something that we as a whole can address.

I have a pretty even balance of teaching and insulting. Who said they're mutually exclusive?

It's no use.
For 30 years I communicated with other business associates via letter explaining, for example, that 2+2=4. It never failed that within 24 hours I would get phone calls asking: did you mean that 2+2=4, or do you mean that 2+2=4 or can it be construed another way, or did I know that if you added a 1 it equaled 5 and on and on.
There must be a different "zone" for some people.

Maybe some people don't communicate so well, or listen so well, or for that point understand so well. Where one person finds something funny, another may get their feelings hurt. I guess it's all how you aproach it, and how you handle it. :)

Oh I don't think thats true. See, I was a member of another board the same time I was here, and I helped it get started. I was a moderator actually. And when I was made an Elite here, I was demoted from moderating, because the owner of that board decided that he did not like Elite members, or what they stood for. So he called it a political action, and dumped on me. But we both knew what the real problem was, only this person did not have the courage to say it to my face. So I like this board, where people are not afraid to say what they really think to my face, instead of hiding behind other reasons. I may not like what they have to say, but at least I can respect them. I think you understand exactly what I am saying 64bitloopy.

The atmosphere here isn't one of fun or excitement, I often wonder why some people keep coming back and posting like they do.

And I often wonder why people who are banned, and supposedly do not like what this board stands for keep coming back under new user names. ;)

Maybe you should ask for a recount, girl friday.

As I stated before, perhaps it is more of an addiction than it is fun. I guess you make friends and keep coming back to them.

Maybe, also you read into things more than you think. A lot more. That's too bad.

That was my opinion...the first "I agree with Red" part was in reference to what you said. But we know that you think it's annoying. ;)

Was there an ad? I hadn't noticed. I'm not trying to rock the boat, or change the world, just responding to something I see.

Now go outside and play with your stick.:)
