I HATE Ford with a passion, and NEVER will I EVER buy a car by them again.

I However LOVE my 1995 Mercury Mystique. It has DEFINITELY had it's share of problems, AND it has been in a few wrecks, but there were some major engineering/design flaws with them.

There was a RECALL, that they NEVER sent me in the email. I'm soo positive about this, because me/my dad would always look at it, and get it worked on. Anyways, my wiring harnesses went bad a few months ago. And this car is old, with 124,000 miles at the time. I go get it fixed from a place, and it's costing me $1200. So I look online, and see that it was a recall with FORD. BUT the recall ended @ 100,000 miles. So, I took it to the dealer, he said he can't do anything. I CALL Ford Customer Service....they tell me to blow myself. (Well....not really.) They said that if I EVER took my car to the dealer before it hit 100,000....the dealer should have notified me. But they didn't! I NEVER got the recall letter!

I'm NOT mad at the flaw, I mean it's a design issue...and these things definitely can happen. And it's hard to predict what effects the design of a car will have years after it's made. I'm MAD cuz Ford screwed me, and I had to pay that much for my car to get fixed. (I eventually had it fixed under the table AT a FORD dealer by the Head Tech of the Department. About 600 bux after everything.)

I will never buy FORD again. And for you people that tell me I'm stupid, just think if Best Buy screwed you over....you wouldn't go back to them, would you?

<rant over>

Sounds like the dealer screwed you. Were you the original owner of the car?

KeyserSoze

No, I was not the original owner of the car, it had one previous owner who only had it for like a year. But yeah, I talked to the dealer, and a few dealers in the area....they couldn't do anything.

Finally got home to scan a few pictures I found.

Boss & Lightning

Pictures of my totaled Boss (you can also see my L in the background!) and a picture of the L out in the yard.

GT and GT

That picture is of the Silver GT (totaled) and my Black GT that had my competition (winning :D) Stereo. I was one of the first people to use 4 solo baric 12" Kickers in the back of a Mustang. The Amp you see is a Team Phoenix Gold 2250 amp. When bridge down to 2 Ohm it created 2250Watts of power. When you pressed one of the red buttons (or a remote button) on the top of the trunk (shown in picture) the Team Phoenix raised up to show an Orion HCAA 225 (2x25watts, but when it was bridged to 1ohm it created 400watts) a lightning cap, and 3 US Amps Gel Cell Batteries. MB Quart Mid's and highs (6.5", 4", and 1" in both doors and the rear deck). Had a Clarion Pro Audio 920 Digital EQ, Alpine 3 disc indash changer/head unit. All custom install and designed.

Ah I miss those days of throwing away all my money on toys :D

Oh yeah, if you are interested, I have about 84 jpgs zipped up of the Corvette Museume and all the cars if you want. I can give you a link, but I don't want to post it and have comcast hammered. Some BEAUTIFUL and amazing cars there.

All car makers have their up and down periods. Maybe it's their time now but Chrysler seems to be making the most exciting vehicles at this time - & best bang for your buck(I'm only talking of US majors - not imports).

That said, the 2nd most fugly car (after Aztec) has to be the Focus.

I actually think the Focus is one of the nicest compact car

Your trunk is pretty full. What kind of DBs did that pull?

I could hit around 145-147db's. That trunk was slammed. I had no spare wheel cause I used it for all the batteries and such.

The program you are refering to is NOT a Recall but an Extended Warranty program, and for your information Ford does not have a crystal ball to find every owner. We rely on the State's DMV for owner names and addresses, and if they don't get it right we can't mail correctly. Plus you may have not been the owner at the time of the first and only mailing, which means you wouldn't have gotten a letter at all. This is your repayment for not being loyal to a dealership in the first place.

Sorry about your luck, but remember Honda never owned up to a failed balance shaft seal on Accords that causes seized engines, it happend to two cars in my family.

But they seemed to do fairly well making a few bucks this quarter. :D

Ford makes a bundle

While their numbers for the remainder of the year could do who knows what, thats a nice 1st quarter.
Even though they are showing an increase in profit, this is offset by the 700 million they will lost this quarter due to a down turn in the industry.

I don't understand, how are you losing money when you make a profit? I always thought that any income over your fixed and variable costs was considered profit. Where does the 700 million figure in, decreased car sales? Then why do they have an 800 million dollar profit?
This profit is based on the estimated sales of this year, if sales are down and operating costs stay the same, then your profit will be lost. That is why a down turn in the industry will cost Ford 700 Million dollars in the next three quarters.

This is a good start for the company, but the year is long from over.
