Looks friggin sweet. I don't quite like those mirrors, aesthetics, I can't comment on function.

The stock mirrors looked worse...and they really only afford you a view of your shoulders and what is just to the right and left of them. You couldn't see anything directly behind you with them without moving your head to the side.

These you have to look down more to see but give you a much better view to the rear and sides.

What do you ride?

Honestly, I didn't want a sport bike. The riding position and ergonomics just aren't as comfortable as this bike. Also, the V-twin engine produces a lot of torque at low rpms so I don't have to rev the shit out of it to get into the powerband. Makes riding around town (commuting on it) that much more enjoyable and attracts less attention from the police.

Many people turn these bikes into track day only bikes and race them because they handle so well in the twisties.

Sure, it's not as fast as a Hayabusa, but really, how practical is a Hayabusa?

Oh, the SV gets 48mpg in town and I regularly see 57mpg out in the country. 😉

In short, it's a fun bike that even experienced riders can enjoy. A friend of mine has one (he's had numerous bikes before this) and he let me ride it a few weeks before I bought mine which heavily influenced my decision. This isn't my first bike either.

Other bikes I was considering: Triumph Street Triple (I really wanted this bike but there weren't any available), BMW F800ST (too expensive). Other bikes I have ridden, BMW R1150R, Ducati GT1000 Classic Sport, various Honda motorcycles, Harley Davidson Sportster, etc.
 
Sweet bike, and from what I see in the HighMPG thread its pretty fast and easy on gas. I like the stance of it, a nice medium between crotch-rocket and those things with the huge windshields and saddlebags.

No. But I can't be pulled over for it, and if a cop claims to have radar'd me from the right side of my bike I know he's full of shit since those suckers are more stealth than B12 if they don't nail the plate dead on.
 
Jules,the bike looks fantastic. I really like it all black without the badging, very stealth, semi-streetfighter look. And I loved the CRG's on my last bike. They look great and actually work. :thumbsup:

All bikes are fun to ride for one reason or another, and whatever bike you like the best, is the best bike there is (an absolutely true statement). But I don't like the sport style at all. They go like hell, they handle like a dream, but they look so damn silly (to me) and require such an uncomfortable riding position that I could never own one.
 
Personally I would like some color as the flat black has a "Robo-cop prop" effect that I don't prefer,
however the bike itself looks like it would be a blast to drive, 650cc is probably faster than most
cars out there and still get decent MPG.

Quality has been top notch. Fit and finish is good, reliability has been excellent.

I've gone up against a few cars (Corvette Z06-he backed off as we approached 60mph...he was already a couple car lengths behind, Mitsubishi Evo, Solstice GXP-yeah right buddy, you think that thing is fast?). None have beaten me on the bike. Yes, it is faster than a Lotus Elise. :laugh:

I'm done messing around with cars though. There just is no point and I don't want a ticket for street racing.

No, it's definitely not a cruiser. However, a sport bike has clip on handlebars, which put the rider a lot lower and more hunched over, this bike has proper handlebars for a more upright riding position. It also has the foot pegs/controls in a more relaxed position. You can get rearsets like the race bikes have but they are less comfortable for daily riding.

It is actually quite comfortable. I've been out riding all day on it a few times with no trouble.
