Also You should get 1GB of ram for each CPU :)

Nice Rig

I have an 80GB and an 18GB. I still have about 8GB left on the 18GB and about 45GB left on the 80. What do you have that takes so much space?

What for? To play games?

For example, right now while I'm suring the web, Norton Anti-Virus is running the background along with SpamPal and NovaTracker (BitTorrent). Task manager says I'm using ~25% of the total CPU power and no page file. The system is as responsive right now as it is when it's not doing anything. 'Tis the power of SMP.

Only 25%? You need Seti ;)

To tell you the truth, I'm probably going to setup Seti on it this week. I've run DC proggies in the past, most recently F@H but some bugs in the client made my computer ack 'wonky' so I stopped using it.

You know you're a computer addict when: Your new RAID 1 repairs itself & you're excited.

You fix your kid's computer (that you took apart 2 weeks ago) & have a collection of HD's to replace the one that failed...

Heck, for the first time I got a box that is faster than I need, no kidding. All my previous ones were horribly slow and annoying. This is so fast I know I can't even use it to it's fullest.

The only ones that would be impressed are other Computer addicts. I lost my urge to constantly ujpgrade a couple of years ago. In fact while I don't mind working on systems for others I hate working on mine. Just seems like a waste of money and time trying to keep on the bleeding edge.

HOLY CRAP! You have EIGHT HARD DRIVES?!!

No, just four.

Oh, ok. JUST four :p

Read the message above. I paid less for these four than you can buy a drive for anywhere else. :)

You can get a 200 gig 8 mb cache drive for ~$89 AR these days.

You have a four month old house that you have hard wired, wireless, and a rig in every room except the bathrooms and kitchen. Did I mention the server in my closet?

You need one in the bathroom. I'm disappointed.

And? I paid about twice that for a similar but not exact amount of space, but close to 4x the bandwidth... I needed speed more than storage space.
