im building a new server to replace a older one and have a crap load of odbc connectors to recreate. it would be nice if MS made a tool to export and import those connectors to save a hour of work.

Export the ODBC definitions from the registry.

Edit the text file as needed to point to the proper locations on the new system (if you did not keep the same structure)

Import the text file on the new system.

Import the text file on the new system.

Specifically HKLM\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI

It would be nice if we had a tool that put a question in the form of a statement in the wrong forum just to get an answer.

Oh wait, WE DO!

Kidding, but seriously, you're a lifer. You should know better. At least you're sneaky about it.

registry is easier to get at....imo. but yeah, they have an import/extport for everything, why not that?!

I do not think many passwords are involved....if any.
