You know what will make you feel dumb?

When your computers onboard sound stops working and you uninstall/reinstall your audio driver, search for an updated driver, search the forum for possible answers, pull your rig apart to see if you could have possibly blew a jumper off when you air dusted it....and then realize you'd plugged your speaker jack into the wrong freaking audio port when you took it apart to dust it the first time... 🙁 I love when that happens. Anyone else ever do anything stupid like that?

Nope, never did anything like that. But one time i had my keys in my hand, and was looking all around wondering where i put them 😎

Yes. Frequently. I'm still alive, and in full possession of all higher mental functions, although some might dispute that. 😉

Lol, sad thing is I actually checked several times to make sure it was plugged in good. Tried a set of my headphones, etc...just had the wrong one. I didn't think for even a second I'd pluged it in wrong. In fact I can't belive I did it because I'm always tinkering with this thing and can pretty much hook it back up in the dark by now. I must be loosing my mind or something 😕

I believe losing ones mind and AT go hand in hand.

Please don't tell us what goes in your other hand.

ummm, no, does it look like my name is flxnimprtmscl?

My speaker jack once slipped out a bit so that the audio only came out of the left speaker. There were several driver reinstalls before that problem was fixed.

I recently formatted a new HD over & over because it wouldn't boot, then I read the huge instruction sheet that came with it & noticed I had the jumper in the wrong spot (it was that way from the factory).🙁

I got you beat.

I had a 120GB Drive that i Changed the jumper[i/] to CLJ so it only would format as a a 32GB. Spent a bunch of hours on that one.

i had a power supply problem, went and bought a new psu and it still wouldn't work.
after taking the whole thing apart, cleaning and putting all back together it still wouldn't
work. come to find out i had gotten the power switch connector one pin off when i put it
back on after testing it with my ohm meter. moved the connector to the right position and
viola, up and running.

I've gone bonkers trying to renew my DHCP lease, asking coworkers if the network was down, only to dicover I'd neglected to plug in the Ethernet cable.

When I'm working on PC's I'll commonly forget to plug the power plug back in to something (or the ribbon cable) and scratch my head for a minute and then realize.

I've done similar stuff that's also dumb, can't recall specifics at the moment, but, I've never done that audio driver reinstall thing because of an unplugged cable.

hehehehe this same thing happened to my dad. he is really computer liberate and just wanted to be able to listen to cds off the comp in his office. The hospital gave it to him so he thought I might as well use it. Well he couldn?t get 5teh sound to work so he called the comp people and they couldn?t figure it out either. So he asked me to look at it. First thing i do is check the plug and it?s in the wrong one. You would think the computer people would check this

I spent 5-10 minutes trying to start my lawn mower the other day, pull cord, fiddle with Carb., pull cord, fiddle with Carb., etc.. and THEN realized I had the start lever in the OFF position.

Put it in the RUN position and BAM started right up!😱
