Yeah, 15 dollars lasts longer at a bar than a theater (provided you arent a lush).

Last summer movies where about 15-25$ when i was in NZ/Australia,I had not gone to a movie at home in around 10 years and was stunned it was under 10$ for a new release

There's a newish theater near my house that has recently started doing a lot of business, so my gf and I decided to go there to see Prometheus (we'd been pretty steadfast customers of the Wehrenberg across town for years).

It was around 9:00 on Saturday night, so I figured we'd get reamed. I took $30 for the tickets alone.

Imagine how stunned I was when the price for both of us was $12. This place now charges "student" prices to everyone. Is the industry finally getting the message?

At any rate - I have a new favorite theater.

I refuse to pay $15 to see a movie, I'd probably tell you I didn't have money (to waste).

Same here and I'm 43 with ZERO debt (but do have a kid starting college next year). Too much money for a movie.
