I (and most americans, I think) consider any friendly fire incident a horrible shame, no matter the nationality of the friendly on the other end, and I think the British army probably stands out more than any other -- the U.K. army is almost as well loved here as our own. ;)

Guys like the one interviewed don't make us look insensitive.
They make us look calloused, arrogant, and belligerent.

Did you even read that whole sentence? :confused:

Edit: I can see a little bit of confusion here...

What I mean is we look insensitive because it's a big case in the UK and not even making much news in the US so it makes us appear unconcerned.

The guy isn't the shapest tool in the shed and he's also mad his friend is dead. Get over it and give the man a break.

His friend is dead? No his friend is the guy who killed someone. I think his friend strafed a British Army recon group with an A-10 and killed a gunner who had his head stuck out the top of one of the vehicles.

It was an accident though.

Woops, you're right, I had the story wrong in my head.

I will amend my statement to say that he is stressed his friend is taking heat because of this, or something.

I lost one of my friends who was my former school mate/teammate to friendly fire.

Yes, I understand what you're saying. Our lack of coverage in this country makes us look insensitive.

I was adding that the guy in the video adds insult to injury, by making us look worse than just "insensitive."

EX CUSE ME you useless dirty redneck would you like to come over HERE and say that? Who the hell do you think you are? Do you even know what you speak of? Is this what America thinks of it's friends? God Damn.

</rant>

Yes... but what you don't see are the 20 other sensible people he interviewed who actually had intelligent things to say. I'm sure I could probably get almost the same thing out of someone in Britain if I interviewed enough people.
However this reporter also seemed quite unprofessional. The american pilot is not "the killer", he's a soldier who made a big mistake. Its war... ****** happens.
