You have $200k in cash with no skills...

What do you do?

  • Put it in the bank?

  • Put it in a mutual fund?

  • Buy stocks?

  • Buy Bonds?

  • Start a business?

  • Go to College/Trade school?

How about you tell us what you do? What does "no skills" mean. Does this mean you are still being spoon fed by your mom or does it mean you just have no idea how to invest money?

That's assuming an ability to benefit from education, however. I know plenty of people on whom a Harvard education would be wasted.

Education does not mean 4+ year degree.

An education could also be in HVAC, Plumbing, police/fire, etc... or even get an apprenticeship in a trade.

hey guys, its not me, lol. i have a degree, job, etc.

i'm gauging everyone's financial thoughts based on their outlook, position. thats why i asked to post your station in life if you are commenting.

Hire a financial planner to advise me on the best way to invest the money. I know my limitations and I know (especially in your scenario) that I don't have the best possible skills to manage a large sum.

Would I go to school? Depends on how old I am at the time, what my interests are, how ambitious I am... I went to school when the opportunity offered so yeah, I guess assuming I haven't done that in your scenario then I would do it.

Go to a trade school. Learn something you'll actually be able to get a job with the day after you graduate. Use some of the money for a sizeable down payment on a house. Rent out the additional rooms to cover the mortgage payment. Use the rest of the money for food and everyday living expenses while going to trade school.

First would be some cheap hookers and supermarket blow, then spend the rest on school.

Party like a rockstar!!

If you have $200K and no skills...odds are, you're not smart enough to think about planning for tomorrow...otherwise, you'd have SOME skills...

Maybe you just woke up from a coma, so you're just starting fresh, you're not necessarily a dumbass.
