Intel sucks? Why would you think that? In what way does Intel corp. suck? I sure wouldn't mind owning .01% of their capitol. :p

I see what you are saying sort of...

Intel is the leader and AMD is coming up strong.

I could see that comparision maybe in the Voodoo3, TNT2 days where they were pretty even.

But I wouldn't make that comparision lately. Intel is not in as bad shape as 3dfx was, and AMD hardly has a "GeForce" against Intel's "Voodoo3" the Athlon and P3 are pretty evenly matched. The P4 has a ways yet to prove itself superior...but look at the Pentium Pro vs Pentium MMX..the Pro wasn't much better, but that pro core went on to become the coppermine, the MMX core died at 233Mhz.

I'd hardly say Intel is falling majorly behind AMD to the point where we should expect bankruptcy in the next year.

The biggest problem I have with that comparison is the mere size of Intel. 3dfx and Nvidia were mostly concentrated on video cards. AMD is primarily focused on processors with flah memory as a second focus. Intel is into everything, including the high end server market that AMD has not entered into yet. AMD is coming on strong but Intel has the bank role to keep them in business for a long time to come. 3DFX just did not have the needed capital to keep running.
