You guys think it's necessary to have screen protectors on your touch screen devices?

i've had a 3gs for 2 years with no case, no gg, and no scratches. Whenever i put it in my pocket, the screen is flush with my wallet.

never had one on my 3gs.. No scratches. Didn't bother getting one for my sgs2.

UNPOSSIBLE!

...or unfair 🙁

I baby my phones. I'm constantly careful to only set it on a clean cloth surface and only keep in clean, empty pockets. The 3G and 3GS would still get mystery scratches. Kinda like the hard plastic parts of my Apple Bumper case: There are marks all over it and I have NO explanation for where they came from.

depends. im vary careful with my phone and have it in a hard holster-case. i dont like the feel of touch for the screen guards so i dont use one.

must be damn good plastic then; have been keeping mine in the same pocket as my keys without a screen protector, and haven't had a scratch on it yet

I'm not saying it isn't GG, it just has give to it if you press it. Feels more like plastic than glass.

Oh; my mistake. It FEELS like quality glass to me, though I'll admit when you tap it, it definitely SOUNDS like plastic.

Oh yeah, imma call BS on that Corning list. The myTouch3G does not have a glass screen. I had one; it's plastic, and it scratches.

im not sure who maintains that list (but id assume its accurate) but we do sell GG to pretty much everyone now

I would say yes unless it sits in a case or there's something to cover the glass when it's in a pocket or bag.

Otherwise, I don't know. The POS screen protector protects the screen, but it gets scratched up, then your "screen" or viewport is scratched. So yay, I protected the glass from scratching but I still have to look through a scratched, possibly distorted surface? Good for resale value I guess. Yay for Dragon/Gorilla glass.

IMO overpriced screen protectors are the monster cables of the smartphone market.

You don't need them, they're totally overkill, but uninformed consumers will spend lots of $$$ on them

"Overpriced?" They come free with just about anything and cost pennies on eBay. [says the guy who paid $25 for an anti-glare screen protector for his Alienware M11x and loves it]

Um, you just peel off the old screen protector and stick a new one on.
