You guys think I can appeal this ticket?

I was driving on the road, and I see 2 man crossing the street while my light was GREEN. I slowed down a little, and didn't do a complete stop, because I was far away. By the time they finished crossing, my light was yellow, and my car is right infront of the light. My car was still moving that time, and it will dangerous for me to do a complete stop, so I just go on. Next thing happen is cops came after me, and give me a ticket that stated I passed a red light.

Funny thing is that I had moved to a new house, and the cops wrote my old address onto the speeding ticket. My license and registeration clearly stated that I have a new address. Do you think I can use that and say the cops can make wrong judgement?

I'm sure that I passed a yellow light, not a red light, because the last time I looked at the light, it was still yellow, and I didn't see no red light.

I hate yellow light tickets. They leave it up to you to make the judgement call as to whether or not you could safely stop, yet they can ticket you for the result of that judgement call....

Yep, it does. The fact that the cop was paying little enough attention to fudge the address shows that he very possibly was not able to accurately judge the distance/speed/position/etc as far as running the light is concerned. Don't be thick headed

Heh. I could be completely wrong on this (so feel free to refute/back up my statement), but if I recall correctly, errors found on a ticket are grounds for ismissal of the ticket.

Innacuracies on a citation are not an excuse to get out of them...I've tried...in Michigan and Georgia

Appeal the ticket.. In most all court cases there is an ASSistant DA there to present this to the judge .... talk to him first and explain what happened, he has a lot of presumed power to toss or call it something else
[ ex You you be willing to accept ticket for faulty equipment (non-moving violation). Of course the price will be the same , but no increase in insurance].

The court date on the ticket is just a session for you to pay or say not gulity... If you plead not guilty then they must set another date so that the COP will be there (not really worth the money for them ). Remember you are allowed to question those who accuse you !!!! The DA does not want to do this on such a small charge. ....BUT BUT BUT if your city needs MONEY then all bets are off
