Is it really popular in the USA? I finished watching the UK version, 7 years late to that party.... and now im watching the USA version, i like them both, pretty funny. Michael scott would be a cool boss to have imo lol.

Ive only watched season 1 of the US version, but the UK version is a million times better than the US version based on that season.

no dude, you only watched season one. IMO, that was the least funny of the seasons. I would ask you to watch 2 and 3 then come back with an opinion. Until then i'm going to go with your opinion doesn't count.

It's based on the UK version like a lot of shows but the storyline changed a lot.
IMO, the US version turned out to be a lot lot better. Most people were very skeptical of the US series when it first started because the UK series was considered the bomb and the notion was that the new US version could never live up to the UK series. That changed later in Season 2 and Season 3. Check the Netflix reviews.
Ok, I'll check it out. Not really a Steve Carrell fan, but we'll see how it goes. Seeing him trying to be Ricky Gervais in the first season was painful; Gervais was so perfect in the UK show. Hopefully he makes the character his own in later seasons.

YES. Season 1 was a verbatum rip of the UK version. I watched it and it was not impressed, much like you. Then Season 2 and 3 came along. They have completely diverted from the UK plotlines and it is MUCH, MUCH better. If you have NetFlix, you can watch the episodes online for free. I think you can watch them on Hulu also for free. If you have the time, check it out. Then when you say it sucks at least you can say from the complete perspective. Or you might end up liking it. who knows...
I'm in Canada, so can't do either of those. I do know someone that has the DVDs though, so I'll just borrow them. We'll see...

I might have said that as well after the first season of the US office...but the US office has just gotten ridiculous awesome...the characters are fantastic. Andy, Oscar, Ryan, Dwight, Toby...all genius...

Not last time I checked. Stupid thing is they accepted me into the beta way back, but then said I wasn't allowed to watch anything because I was in Canada. :frown:
Anyway, just e-mailed my buddy and he is going to lend me season 2 tonight.
