There has never been a better rock vocalist than Freddie Mercury....

And its fair to say there hardly have been many performers like him. What a presence, what a larger than life figure he was....

Love of my life.....don't leave me....

I've tried to like Bach but so much of his music sounds like it was composed on an eight note keyboard. Beep, bep, bit, beep, boop, beep, bop, ideal for early Atari rigs.

Yeah, Bach's vocals on his cover of "Stairway to Heaven" blew me away. Very underrated rock vocalist, Beethoven too. If the Stones had hired Ludwig when they had the chance to nobody would have ever heard of Mick Jagger.

Freddie Mercury was indeed a great vocalist, but that performance of that song leaves a lot to be desired,

Under Pressure is quite possibly the greatest pop song in the history of mankind - or at least in the top 5.

Never did like Queen, but I don't think any "rock" performance has ever bored me quite as much as that one.

He's definitely somewhere in the top ... 20?

Along with: Jon Anderson, Mick Jagger, Robert Palmer, Robert Plant, Steven Tyler. Nancy Wilson, ... and another 13 I'm too lazy to think of.

When you have Freddie and Bowie collaborate, the result can’t be anything but spectacular.

Freddie’s range on vocals is simply unsurpassed.

About the song in the original post, the version that I really love (and I have it in my audio collection) is the one from their live Montreal album

If someone isn't moved by the sheer beauty of this.....then...

To me, the ultimate Queen song would always be this. I must have listened to it thousands of times and still find something fresh in it...

Wow....521 million views...

Rock vocals definitely #1. Range, power, harmonizing post production.

Overall male vocals Top 10 for sure.

One of the greats? Yes without a doubt. The best? probably not.

An yes I am actually old enough to remember. He had many contemporaries that were as good or better vocalists than him.

I still think his best performance was "give me somebody to love" in Montreal(?), no youtube at work here.

Two of the most talented musicians ever, for sure. Bowie unlike most famous people, was a very well read and highly intelligent person. And when it comes to his music, you could tell it was never an act - that he was genuinely happy and enthusiastic ....you can just feel his child like enthusiasm here...this is not how most of the celebrities are...the guy was truly special

3 out of 5 of your choices aren't even vocalists. None of the 2 vocalists are even rock.

Is this a troll post?
