what have yall gotten away with getting more or less than what you payed for? thoughts?

By using research and good bargain hunting methods, I try to get what others pay for, but for less.
So, the others get $1000 worth by spending $1000
I get the identical value for much less.

I disagree. I've found that if I do my research, I can get a better product for the same money, or an equal product for less money. Things like the K7S5A, Celeron 300A, AMD Athlon, etc. At the time those products were out, you could have bought more expensive products that weren't nearly as good.

I'm never satisfied with anything that I pay full price for. It isn't worth the money to me.
I love the truck that I paid $3500 for 2 years ago. That was $1000 under KBB.
I love the convertible that I just bought for $2000 under KBB/NADA.

As somebody who spends hours daily posting good deals on stuff (see sig), I can definitely tell you that "you get what you pay for" is not necessarily the case.
