Well, I know you're laughing. But, you do get PAID $5.09 to buy a Visioneer 4400 USB Scanner and Microsoft Expedia Streets & Trips 2001.
Here is what you should do:
1) Go to staples.com and search for item number 447103, Visioneer 4400 USB Scanner it's now only $74.94.
This has a $30 rebate from Staples (which you'll see there).
2) Add this item #432571, which is the Microsoft Expedia Streets & Trips 2001 CD, for $29.97 (Thanks BenRosey and rickardo40).
It comes with a $20 rebate from Microsoft.
3) Now checkout and use one of the $30 off $100 coupon codes which you can get at.....
There is another $30 rebate from Visioneer on the Scanner:
http://www.visioneer.com/purchase/f2000rebate.html
Here is your total:
$74.94 (Scanner)
$29.97 (Microsoft Software)
=$104.91
-$30 (Coupon)
-$30 (Staples rebate)
-$30 (Visionner rebate)
-$20 (Microsot rebate)
=Your grand total is -$5.09. This means they PAY ya $5.09 to take this Scanner and Microsoft Software.

Isn't Staples going to require the UPC from the scanner too?

Sounds too good to be true. I'd love to get in on this one though.

staples rebate require original or a copy of the UPC code.
but both rebate are in charged by rebatehq.com, and need to fill UPC bar code,
is that feasible to ask for both rebate with same UPC number?

Just go buy the scanner for $60 from staples....send in the rebates, go back and price match it with Circuit City's price for $50 and the scanner is free...probably a lot easier than the other way.

Oh and it does work by the way, people have already done it ) Going tomorrow to price match mine!

Goldfinger, I went and looked at the scanner on staples.com. It is listing for $80, so I'm wondering how I can buy it for $60. Also, if I can pricematch it down to $30, doesnt that mean I make ten bucks off the deal? That would be too cool.....

Please make my fuzzy brain clear on this matter.

For all the people out there that will ask about UPC's.....Staples ONLY needs a COPY of the UPC (read the rebate coupon too)

Yes this works - I have the Visioneer 1600U (last weeks deal) and this 4400 scanner. How much did I pay for them both (after rebates and PM'ing): FREE - what do I do w/these junky scanners - sold them to my neighbors and make a cool profit

Is this scanner really junky? I alrady have a piece of doo scanner and since I dont like to resell to people, I only really want to get this thing if it is of at least decent quality. Any opinions/reviews that anyone has run across would be appreciated.

There are 2 rebates at Staples for this model number. One expired, the other one just started today, and is good if your purchase is made between 2/22/01 - 3/33/01.

I don't think the $15 rebate applies for the monitor stand anyway.
My interpretation of "$75 - $99.99 PURCHASE VALUE" is that purchase value of those types of products. Meaning the scanner doesn't qualify in the 'PURCHASE VALUE.'
Check the rebate site here and tell me what you think.

I did the Staples scanner deal earlier and have already sent out the two rebate forms... Just days ago, they sent me an e-mail...
BOTH rebates have been validated! (sent copy of UPC to Staples)

In case you're a worry wart, I just want to let you know that both rebates work!

Sometimes it pays to wait and then sometimes it really sucks (missed out on the 12x10x32 for $99 bucks). Help! I'm becoming a dealz addict...

BossDog: Are u serious? Well it was $50 at circuit city the other day...haven't checked since. Also who said price match down to $30? Its $60 bucks at Staples and then you have a $20 dollar rebate and a $30 dollar rebate. SO if you price match the original price w/ Circuit City (well what it used to be at Circuit City) for $50 then the scanner is free....get it?

I just looked again at the scanner on staples.com...it says 79.99. How is that $60?

Note: if the price at cc or whereever is actually $50, then the price at staples is a moot point. I actually think the rebates are $30 and $30, so if you can pm down to $50 and not get hit with a shipping surcharge, you can make $10 off the deal.

If you're like me and bought the 20 Gb disk last week but did not buy the Maxtor ATA100 controller yet, here's where you can make $10.03. Buy this scanner for $79.99, and the controller for $49.98. Use a $30 off $100 coupon for a total of $99.97. Get back $50 from Maxtor (12/30-3/31), $30 from Staples (2/22-3/3) and $30 from Visioneer (2/2-3/1) for a total rebate of $110 on $99.97 purchase.

Just got back from Staples after trying to return my Visioneer 2400u (that I got free yesterday with rebates and junk). I wanted to pick up the Visioneer 4400U online after I got back from returning the 2400u. When I was there, I tried to verify that there were TWO (2) rebates ($30 each). They showed me one but said the other was expired.
I insisted and two managers spent about 30 minutes checking and calling around. They finally came back and said there is only ONE (1) rebate for $30.00.
I ended up not returning my other deal(2400U). Any ideas. Am I doing something wrong? Can i get the other rebate online?:confused::confused::confused:

The $15.00 rebate for Monitor Riser is only if your total is betwn 75.00 and 100.00.If you go by the math given in the fisrt post , your total is 74.97 hence not qualifying for the deal for 0.3 cents.BEWARE !!!

A CSR told me Cicuit City updates their webpage every Sunday night. If a product isn't there that was there before - check back on Monday morning. If they have even one in stock it will be on the site (supposedly). Maybe the scanner will show back up on Monday. Anybody try in store to see if it's in stock & check the price?

know whats really funny?
i copied this from staples rebate form:

Fraudulent submission of multiple requests could result in federal prosecution under the U.S. Mail Fraud Statues (18 USC, Section 1341 & 1342).

i plan on gettin in on this too. what a nice deal for a decent sounding scanner... hows the quality on it?

and since staples offers a $30 rebate on this, they wont want to pm it unless final cost, after rebate is still lower.

Ben, it is on me! thats why i thought it was funny. staples has such a humorous way of wording things to protect themselves while they mislead. but i have never seen it written anywhere that one cannot send in 2 or more rebates for the same item when 2 different companies are honoring the rebates.
