You Decide My Fate

Here's the deal: I've been writing code for many, many hours and I've pretty much hit a brick wall. I have something that does almost half of what's it's supposed to do. Just when I start making some more progress with it in trying to perfect the other half, i start getting sass from Visual C++. I'm tired, I'm ticked, and my morale is nearing an all time low. Should I just submit what I have and go to bed, knowing that I'll probably do poorly on this assignment, or should I stay up and keep plugging away? I feel unable to make a decision right now, so I'm putting my fate in your hands. What should I do? This is a vote of quality vs. half-@$$edness. BTW-if you need me, I'll probably in the Software Forum under "Help me, I appear to be Screwed" or something along those lines. Vote away.

i think part of learning programming is learning not to procrastinate? its up to you if you want to fail this assignment (or half fail it) or if you want to try your hardest rather than give up..... it's all up to you

why not ask some ppl for help.... :D

damn geforcekj why'd you even bother to reply, no back to your closet

I vote for getting some sleep and trying it again in the morning. You're spent now, maybe things will seem different after some rest. If it still doesn't work out, don't fret about it too much, just take it as a learning experience that perhaps you need to spend a bit more quality time with the book or instructor :) Wish I could help with the code though, but its left me in the dust

I see more and more a$$holes making some retarded remarks in these forums these days......anyways......programming is something that some people get and some don't...I DON'T get it ...but I still managed to learn C++ and stupid scheme.......just takes a lot of time and effort....so if you feel drained out....take a break and try again.

I sometimes feel like that.. But I always finish up my work. I hate my current C class though, only 1/5 of the grade for the course is the programs and the rest is quizes and tests. :disgust: I still do the programs fully though, since that's the only way I learn the stuff. Just wish I recieve more credit for the programs...

I took a C++ class over the summer and ran into what you have run into too many times to count. Quit and do something less frustrating, sometimes the solution will just come to you when you're not trying to hack away at it. If it doesn't, well, screw it. The only thing I learned from my class was that a career in programming was definitely not for me. And I guess that sort of made the class worth it.

You need a break from it, but try a short rest and then resume. Try drinking some coffee too, that mgiht help.

I don't program but when I'm doing other complicated tasks and find myself stuck I often find that taking a small break refreshes me and helps me take a new approach to completing the task. Go take a new bath or have a snack, or take a 10 minute walk. Maybe even post the problem in more detail here, I bet a lot of coders would be willing to help you.
