You can't use divx 3.11 decoder with divx 5 installed?

With divx 4, you were asked if you wanted to use divx 4 to play all divx 3 content. The new divx just assumes that you want to view your files with the poorer codec. How can I disable the new 3.11 decoder but keep the divx 5 decoder? Installing divx 3.11 after 5 has no effect. Thanks.
 
It is having trouble with my dual CPUs. In order to play a file without sync issues i need to max the usage of one of my procs. I would much rather use the 3.11 decoder.
