You can't get a non Z06 Corvette with a manual??

According to Edmund's you can't. Wtf???

Edit: It shows manual as an option on the specs page, but the gas mileage they show for the manual is the same as the Z06, so I don't know if that's what they mean.

I don't know about edmund's but my local Chevy dealership has a couple of Corvettes (non Z06) that have manual trans sitting in the showroom

Apparently, it comes standard with the automatic and the 6-speed manual is an option. Edmund's lists it at just over $900 in the "Price with Options" page.

People should be forced to learn how to drive manual.

Amen.

On another note, the automatic comes standard, fool. You can choose a manual if you want one.

Look under Transmissions

I regard that as a sad state of affairs . . . I think it is unfortunate that America's most famous sports car comes with an automatic.

Blame 45-50 year old guys going through midlife crisis who are too fat and lazy to drive an stick, the way a vette is supposed to be driven.

I agree. The manual should at least be a zero-cost option. The 'Vette is a driver's car and GM should treat it that way.

I asked atMercedes dealership about a C230 Kompressor Sport, and they told me that they only get autos. For a manual, you have to "special order," which in practice means you pay what they ask for. I think they know they wouldn't sell. If they just wanted to inflate the price, they can do it very well with the many other optional packages.
