you can't get a Minivan with Power operated sliding doors, leather etc for less than 30k.

WTF is up with that.

minivans over 30k.

holy fvck. i can't think believe i'm considering buying one of these.

not only that, even the Kia Sedona with all the options is over 30k.

THIRTY THOUSAND for a Kia. am i crazy for even considering it?

30k msrp with all the options, well everything but the dvd player.

i got it at a negotiated $25k.

that's about 7k less than a similarly equipped sienna.

Edit - then again, I haven't looked in a while.

even the mazda fully equiped with all the features i'm refering to i believe is very very close to 30k.

as to JLGatsby ludicrous comment.

there is no better vehicle for transporting a family with 3 kids than a minivan.

Why? Some of us need to haul kids, stuff, and don't want to pay $40K for a glorified pickup truck.

If you don't have $30K to spend, do without the leather and power doors.

I mean, I wanted alloys, premium stereo and sunroof in a wagon. Couldn't find one for under $20K.

Soemtimes you have to lower your standards. ;)

Let me know if you find an SUV (a small one, not something that'll roll down the street sideways) with three rows for around $20K. :) I heard Hyundai was going to have something for '07, but I haven't seen it.

What's the advantage of a minivan over an SUV?

Minivans drive and handle like a sleigh.

And you certainly won't look very "hip" rolling up in your "minivan."

don't comment on things if you have no clue.

the minivan is WAY more spacious than an SUV. shoot, compare a minivan to a Ukon XL. the XL is HUGE exterior but the interior is cramped compared to a minivan.

and minivans don't handle nearly as badly as you imply. they handle as well on the roads as most suv's i've driven.

not that i think its a great looking vehicle, but the Uplander i think can do it, and then once you negotiate it is well under.

and the interior is decent, not great, but better than the craventure

we looked at suv's and they just don't provide the convenience inside that a minivan does.

i'll probably have to not do the leather, personally, i prefer fabric upholstry in vehicles over leather, leather is hot in the summer, cold in the winter and tends to get slippery. cloth interiors feel better winter and summer than leather and never gets slippery.

the only reason for considering leather is, kids tend to spill stuff.

No but seriously what I mean is, don't you have any friends or siblings or coworkers that would sort of giggle about the fact that you drive a minivan? Honest question.

Have you ever driven a minivan? Survey says... no.

i giggle at the morons who drive their 2-ton boat of a SUV that's slower than a city bus at the pumps when regular is $2.84.
