I used to have a ton when I was younger, but I grew out of it after I got married. Now I have a desktop, my wife has a laptop, and there is a file server. That's about it.

Let's see. I just got finished buying a new work laptop so here it goes

1 AMD64 PC - Used everyday
1 Dell Dimension - Only used for my occasionaly gaming in the basement when the wife is working in the office
1 Dell C400 Laptop - 12 incher used for its portability and usually is around the living room and used every day... also taken on road trips with Verizon Broadband card
1 Powerbook - wife's work laptop bought right before they anounced Intel chips :(
1 MacBook Pro - 2.0 dual core, Just bought for my work, on the road video editing and production, will dual boot into XP
1 Dell Latitude 610 - My work laptop, should be here next week

Heavy into laptops it seems, but most are bought for work reasons and all PC's are used at least 1 time a week.

2 office PCs (1 for me, 1 for my emp)
1 office notebook (for road work)
1 test PC (data recovery software installed, etc.)
4 Media Center PCs (1 for bedroom plasma, office CRT, kitchen LCD, theater room projector)
1 family PC
1 guest PC in the spare bedroom
1 file/Exchange server
1 whole house audio PC (4 sound cards outputting to a Russound CAV66)
1 firewall PC (running IPCOP)

So I guess that's 13 in use, plus random other ones that I'm working on or building at the time.

I'm guilty of being a computer hog, too!

I have about four PC's running by all four members in this household. No TV(kids don't seem to miss it and their grades reflect it) in our house but we also have about four laptops for a total of eight.

I have another four computers just sitting around for me to get rid of and probably parts to build another two. I can't resist buying broken PC's on Craigslist for pennies on the dollar and repairing them. My workbench in my garage is just cluttered with computer parts and junk.

Why not? Is it because of : *Knock knock* "Who's there?"

I sell immediately after I know I won't use it anymore and keep my monitor purchases down to every 6years or so. The amount of electronic waste which includes lead and other harmful materials is quite astounding. Its best to buy from a company that has their own recycling dept. Otherwise the crap ends up in China and some 5y/o is smelting the boards to get the valuable metals while sitting on 30tons of the U.S.'s waste.

6 PC's
2 Laptops
(4 people in the family)

Starting to look for a new desktop, but will probably retire one of the other PC's when I do acquire the next one.
