3 Questions;

What is the rest of the title of this thread?
What program is it from?
Who said it?

I think it's from an old beer commercial.

It's at least 20 years old. If I remember the rest I'll edit.

*EDIT*

"You can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay, or you can call me Ray Jay, or you can call me RJ, but you doesn't hast to call me Mr. Johnston"

Comedian Bill Saluga did that act but he did it on a few different shows in the 70's. I can't remember the titles.

It's from a comedy sketch by a group called the "Ace Trucking Company". They used to be on the Johnny Carson show frequently.

The character in the sketch was named Ray Jay Johnson. "...or you can call me R.J. or you can call me Ray J.J. or you can call me R.J.J. <and some other variations I don't remember go here, and at the end he says> ...but you doesn't have to call me Johnson!"

The comedian who did the sketch was Billy Saluga.

Max,

I thought you knew the answers and were just running a game. I did a search and found that he appeared on the Redd Fox comedy hour. Scroll down on this site and you'll find a link to a realplayer audio clip of his appearance.

Kranky-

Thanks, you are right. I just remembered the Johnson part and came back to say so but you got under the wire.
