incorrect.

breathing and blinking are autonomic responses.

you may think you're controlling your breathing... but unless you are manually sending "retract" ... "expand" ... commands to your diaphragm... it's still autonomic.

Uh... yes.

However, this thread is all about tricking readers into entering into manual breathing, which is, consciously controlling the muscle movements. Conscious control often overrides any and all autonomic responses.

I actually have a fairly nasty habit of manually controlling my breathing, a stress/anxiety thing I think. And once I start, it's hard to consciously let go of control. It's kind of like hiccups - if you keep thinking about them, it keeps happening, and it's hard to stop thinking about them. Sometimes I settle into a feedback loop of sorts, and now that I'm thinking about it in a different light... :hmm: I don't think I've ever consciously won that battle. Once I get into that mode, I'm stuck... after awhile, my body just naturally resumes after I've engrossed myself into something else.
I just did it again... yes, I'm blogging right now it appears. However, I'm winning. :awe:

I am not breathing with my hands. That would be quite hard. I'm not using my hands to blink either, though I guess I could.

I am my own gammy and she is also recently deceased so that would make it necrophilic, incestuous, masturbation?

Doesn't matter, you're just thinking about it. It doesn't have to be possible. There you go again!

No. They are emphatically not autonomic. The diaphragm is supplied via the normal nervous system, not the autonomic system, and is of normal muscle not smooth (autonomic) muscle.

They are, however, automatic. The difference is significant.
