Looks like the guy who managed to sell all those pictures ripped off some pretty clueless people. Not sure who's worse though, them or the idiot who wrote this story.

"I didn?t get my station in the mail"
"He thought he paid $300 for the game"
"Instead of the actual PlayStation, Jim and his son got a color picture of the game."

STATION? GAME? SAY IT DAMMIT! PS2!

eBay caught up just in time. I already had a dozen of similar auctions going but they deleted them all along with similar ones from others. Oh well. I cashed in on the gas masks large. You win you lose. Life. :D

I thought it was going to be another link to one of thoes auctions.

Stupid people.

This is funny as hell. Only problem is that then people read TOO MUCH into auctions. When I was selling PS2's, people asked me if it came with a power cord and video cables, since i said "came with system only" (since i had games and accessories in the pic too).

edit: yes it is unethical. but i wouldn't call it illegal, it specifically states you're buying a picture.

Hehehe...this is why I don't buy anything on eBay. Sell, sure...but never buy. Too easy to get scammed.

Either way, this is stupid. It's a very well orchestrated...I'm not sure if I can say scam because a scam is like selling something and never sending it...and this guy sent what he advertised. A picture.

This is why I always send an email to the seller confirming what I'm getting.

A good seller will send you an invoice when the auction closes (or at least an email) and tell you what you're getting. I won't say don't buy from any one who's new 'cause right now I only have one ref. but you should be skeptical if they're new.

<< maybe it will teach those 75+ people to read before they bid >>

<< This is the closest thing we have to "survival of the fittest." >>

Agreed. If you're dropping that much money online, you should definitely read EVERYTHING on that page carefully. Heck, even when I'm bidding on $5 products, I read the entire auction to make sure everything's clear. If it isn't, then I *gasp* ask questions. Tough luck for the bidders. All the details are right there on the auction site.

Anyone want to buy a bridge? :)

Course, by then, you're legally bound to buy a 300 dollar picture.

Live and Learn, that's all there is to it. They were eitheir too lazy to take the time to properly read through the auction, or too stupid to realize what they were bidding on. Eitheir way, it's their own faults.

Now that's a scam. Because the one small "d" throws you off. The other Xbox box's ones clearly state you are only getting the box and not the actual system.

<< ?You are bidding on the Sony PlayStation II Xmas bundle picture below.? >>

I think he made one REALLY big mistake!

It says you are bidding on the picture below.

It doesn't say ANYTHING about a COPY of the picture!

How can he sell the same picture to 75 differant people??

He can't, only copies..

SO who got the original Picture?

And how is the seller to PROVE who got the picture pictured?

I would think this guy is in big trouble!

If this guy gets any criminal charged against him that would suck, is it unethical? yea. Did he send them what they bid on? yea.

i admit there are a lot of idiots out there that deserve what's coming to them, but i'm in sympathy mode right now for some reason. there are many people in this country who do not have a firm grasp on the english language. they will read "picture" as "pictured" and will fail to see the difference.

That's a bit ridiculous. 75 auctions, 75 pictures.
