yobarmans first auto accident.

ok so today im driving home from work, and i merge onto route 1....and theres this truck in front of me and i try to get around it...so i speed up and see a truck behind me and and i merge into the far left lane of a 2 lane highway....well all i hear is some honking and im like "OH SH)T!" and i hear a scrape. Goddam i didn't even this guy, talk about being in the blind spot. Anyway, we pulled over and the trucker behind us pulled over because he was supposed to because his job requires him to be a witness....


all in all the cops arrive, and we trade info. the damage to my car is no more that 50 bucks, and the damn to his car is like a dent in his wheel well...could be 100 -300 to fix depending on where he goes, prolly to the dealership cause he has "special paint" i've been driving for 2.5 years with a clean record, and this is the first. anyways, hopefully this will be my last accident in a long time

$100-$300? How bad is the dent (if the paint is scratched probably pretty bad)? what is the car?....could easily run closer to $1000-$3000

The dent is on front right panel...about a 2 inch long dent in the wheel well. about a 1/4 of an inch deep... it looks like it can just be knocked back into plce. there's also a small scratch on the front bumper but that can be buffed out.

If repairs are that cheap I'd pay for them out of my pocket as opposed to going through insurance (don't know which one you were planning on doing). You'll save money in the long run.

Long run? It'll save you money in your first insurance check, especially if you're under 18....absolutly pay out of pocket if you can.

yeah im definately paying out of pocket, we're not even gonna contact the insurance companies. he's gonna get a quote, and ill pay it (if its reasonable...i mean the dent is so minor ill bitch up a storm if they replace the whole panel!)
