Picked up a very nice all leather Targus notebook briefcase (item # 4722161) for $29.99 less $20MIR yesterday at my local BB. Not on website so may be just a local thing.Worth a shot if you need a very nice case. As always YMMV.
 
Are you sure this is real leather? Even at the pre-rebate price or $30, this seems too inexpensive for a real leather case.

Just wondering.

If it is real leather, then this is a hot deal!

 
You're not going to see a real leather laptop case for less than $100+, unless it's a hot deal. (Ikon "leather" cases are not leather......they're pleather)

more than likely it's pleather.....plastic-leather.....fake-leather..


still, I prefer pleather to nylon anyday on my laptop case.

 
Thanks Allisolm for the link-- that is indeed the one I purchased and it is definitely all leather.

As you can see it sells for $129 so I think this really a good deal

JHawk, did it ring at the register for $29.99 (indicating that it's at that price in the computer, nationally)?

Or was it priced on the shelf or advertised for $29.99 (also in a way suggestive that this might be a national price)?

Or was it in a clearance section, or did a manager mark down the price for you (suggesting that you got lucky on a local, one-time deal).

ohhenry1--was in the clearance section but they had quite a few. On the handwritten ticket given to me by the manager it says "at risk" which I have been told is BB's way of identifying items they want to get rid of. My guess is other BBs are showing it as "at risk" as well.

Hope you find one as they are really nice cases.

Actually, you can find some Ikon "real" leather laptop cases at Circuit City for reasonable prices ($50 - $60.) However, like you, the $27.00 Belkin nylon cases are more than adequate for my needs. Plus, after two years of use (and abuse) I can easily get a new one to replace the old one.

I called at the local stores in Boston and was told it was in the computer at $69.99. I couldn't actually get anyone to go look at the item (damn people would not answer the phone for LITERALLY over half an hour), but at least the CSR punched it up on the computer.

I'd check it out personally, but it's snowing in Boston, so unless other people start getting in on the deal, I'm going to sit it out.

Hope some people find some!

 
My local store at NH has it, clearly marked for $69.99 - $20MIR. No clearance. Didn't bother to take it to the register to see for how much it rings for.

I am looking for a cheap laptop case for my 15" laptop. Never found a cheap one for 15". Anyone suggest a good site.

I figured since I just dropped 3 grand on a new powerbook I'd get a case worthy of holding it. Bought a Victorinox laptop case at a local luggage shop yesterday. I like it a LOT. 🙂

http://www.ebags.com/ usually has pretty good deals. Definitely check around for dollar off coupons and use Ebates for further savings. Ebags usually has lots of coupons and stuff floating around.
 
Based on the replies to this thread I obviously lucked out. I would say if you can get one of these for $49 AR it is still worth it. These are very nice cases IMHO.
